Twenty-Two: No Longer Hidden

*(Y/N) POV*

The last two days with Rengoku, Mitsuri, and Obanai have been relaxing. I've also been able to spend some time with Suma, Makio, Hina, and Uzui too! We only have like three more days of this break, and then it's back to my brutal training. 

"Hey (Y/N)! We're grabbing dinner with the Hashira!" I heard Rengoku yelling from downstairs. I sighed and rolled out of bed. I had tried to take a nap but failed due to a crow that decided to come through my window. I grabbed the letter from the crow to read it one last time before getting ready. 

Y/N,

I understand if you don't want to talk to me anymore. But I am always here, you know that. 

Giyuu

I sighed and placed the letter in my box and started getting ready. I wasn't sure what kind of dinner this was so I threw on a nice pair of pants, shirt, and my haori in case I get cold. I threw my hair up into a high ponytail and made my way down the steps.

"Hi there Rengoku!" I yelled walking into the kitchen. He chuckled at my energetic entrance, shaking his head. "Gyomei and Uzui ran into town to get the food, we're meeting at Mitsuri's to eat." I nodded my head and started skipping towards the door. There was no reason for my random burst of energy, but it felt good. I felt happy. 

We walked out the door and went towards the Love Hashira Estate. Unfortunately Suma, Makio, and Hina had to go back to work yesterday so I can't hang out with them anymore. Kinda sucks because it was nice having some other girls around, but we're going to have to go to work soon anyway. 

I stopped my skipping when we reached the gate and followed Rengoku in. I was so excited to see everyone again! Maybe not Sanemi or Shinobu, but we can work with that. I ran into the house and threw myself into Mitsuri. 

"Hi! I literally haven't seen you in forever!" I yelled. Everyone laughed and Mitsuri spoke, "You saw me yesterday hun." I smiled and nodded my head. 

"Sorry, I don't know where she got this energy from," Rengoku told the Hashira. I guess we were the last to arrive. I took my seat between Mitsuri and Rengoku as everyone started to dig into their food. 

I looked up to see everyone in their own conversations. I was surprised to see Muichiro since I've heard he's very forgetful. I kept scanning the room and my eyes paused when I got to Giyuu. He was next to Shinobu, her head was on his shoulder. 

I thought he said that he didn't want anything to do with her. I know I shouldn't trust him, not anymore. But that kinda hurts. 

Sanemi interrupted my thoughts and began questioning me, "So kid, why'd your parents send you away?" Everyone looked at him with a what the hell look. I just rolled my eyes, shrugged my shoulders, and kept eating. 

"You're not much to talk sober are you?" He kept going. "Let's not do this right now," Obanai said to him. 

I spoke up, "It's fine Iguro-san," I knew better than to be "disrespectful" in front of Sanemi. "No, I tend to keep to myself. Thank you though," I smiled at him and took the last bite of my food.

"That would make sense. I mean considering you were with Giyuu at one point right, and he's not much of a talker himself. Isn't that what you said the other night, that you two were together?" My eyes widened at his comment. 

Mitsuri looked at him, "Can't we enjoy a meal together without fighting or having drama Sanemi?" He laughed at her question, "I'm just trying to get to know her better. Especially if Master wants her to become one of us." 

I looked at Giyuu and saw Shinobu's arm now wrapped around his, holding him tightly. I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Giyuu and I used to live together that's all." 

I heard Shinobu scoff at my comment. I started to play with my ring trying to focus my attention. I didn't want to think about this. Not right now, not with everyone here. But apparently that wouldn't be possible, "What's with that ring anyway?"

My eyes shot up to Shinobu's as she asked me the question, "Excuse me?" "The ring. Giyuu has something similar that he carries with him. Why do you have that?" 

My mind started racing. He still had it? But the ring. The ring meant nothing anymore. Not with his broken promise. Not with the picture in front of me right now. My vision started blurring, and I could feel myself starting to slip. 

"You know that's a valid question. Did Giyuu give that to you? I mean, if he did why still wear it if he's dating Shinobu?" I stood up from the table and felt everything fade away. All I saw was Sanemi and his stupid face asking me stupid questions. 

I could hear Rengoku trying to get my attention but I didn't care not anymore. The pain inside was too much. 

"(Y/N), breathe." I felt a hand grab mine and an arm wrap around me, pulling me into their chest. I hadn't realized how close I had gotten to Sanemi in my state, how close I was to attacking a Hashira. I broke out of my thoughts, realizing it was Giyuu's arms I was in. 

If it wasn't for Shinobu's voice, I would've been able to maintain my cool. Maintain my control. "What the hell?! Why do you -" her thoughts were interrupted by me finally snapping and getting out of Giyuu's grasp. I jumped at her, her falling backwards trying to escape my attack. I felt someone hold me back again, restraining me. 

"(Y/N), you need to stop. You need to control this. C'mon now." I instantly calmed down at his touch and soothing voice. 

Sanemi spoke again, "What the hell is wrong with her?!" 

Giyuu kept his hold on me, lowering me to the floor to sit with him. He kept my face hidden in his chest as he spoke, "She doesn't do well with negative emotions." 

"Well if she can't control herself she shouldn't be a Demon Slayer!" I grabbed onto Giyuu, trying to control myself. His shirt was in the way of his skin and it was irritating me. I put my hand on the side of his neck, feeling the warmth of his skin and calming down. 

"CAW! CAW! EVERYONE IS TO MEET WITH MASTER NOW! CAW!" The crow flew in scaring everyone. 

Sanemi scoffed, "See what you did?" Everyone stood up from their seats and began walking towards the Master's estate. 

"(Y/N), are you okay to walk with Giyuu?" Rengoku asked me. I nodded my head, grabbing Giyuu's hand. We made our way out the door, following behind the other Hashira.

Uh oh, she really lost control in front of the other Hashira. Guess it all came to be too much. Till next chapter :)
