San Diego, California

(Diamond's POV)

I've never given much thought to how I would die. But dying in the place of someone I love... seems like a good way to go.

I can't bring myself to regret the decisions that brought me face to face with death. They also brought me to Edward. Though not possibly dying would've been nice...

As I stood in front of my old dance studio, a million thoughts swirled in my head as I anxiously bit my lip, trying to gather the courage to walk in.

Obviously, I've never been in any conflict like this with a vampire. I've never even met a vampire before I met the Cullens. So the fact that I'm about to confront a vampire, and not just your regular vampire either,

But a fucking tracker vampire, with heightened senses. He could kill me with ease. I might have magic, but I'm not sure if I have the capability to defend myself against someone like James.
I quickly stopped all those doubtful thoughts when I remembered. Camilla.

She was in there with him. The thought of her being alone with him for another second made me sick to my stomach. That gave me enough motivation to finally go inside.

~~~~~
It was dark inside. No real surprise though, since it was the middle of the night. The only source of light was the moon, which was full and as bright as ever. When I entered, I was met with the dark, yet familiar hallway. The hallway had doors on either side, leading to various other compartments. Like, the coach's office, locker room, janitors closet, etc.
I walk passed them, making my to the double doors that were at the very end of the hallway. The double doors that lead to the dance studio.
When I reached doors, I could sense him. My amulet vibrating against my chest. I had to take a deep breath before forcefully pushing open the doors, making them hit the walls behind them.
The first thing I saw was Camilla, strapped to a chair in the center of the large room. Her face was illuminated by the moonlight, which made it easier to see the tape around her mouth... and the bruise on the side of her face.
My fists clenched when I saw it, how dare he put his hands on her?!
James suddenly appeared out of seemingly nowhere behind Camilla and places his hand around her neck, making her flinch.
"Well hello, Diamond." He said, an evil smirk on his face.
"Let her go." I say in a low voice, ignoring his 'greeting'.
"Mmm. I dunno," James removes his hand from Camilla's neck, only to grip her hair instead. He pulls her head back, exposing her neck and buried his nose into it, closing his eyes as he inhaled deeply.
"She smells so good." He practically moaned as my best friend trembled with fear, tears streaming down her face.
"HEY! Get the fuck away from her!" I yell, my body starting to shake with anger. This guy is fucking disgusting. He smirked, unfazed by my outburst, "Or what, princess?" He taunted, standing up straighter.
"Or I'll make you regret it. Trust me."
James chuckled dryly, his expression suddenly dropping, his smirk now gone. Not gonna lie, the sudden change in expression creeped me out a little.
