"Do you think that you should do this today?" Angel asks me while we walk into the tattoo parlor that my friend owns.

"Yea, it's fine. We have a couple of hours until we have to meet with Drea, and it'll be a couple of quick tattoos," I tell her while holding the door open for her, then walking to the reception desk.

"Hi! What can I do for you today?" A black girl with glasses asks us. I can tell she's in her late teens or early twenties; she has a muscular body with small tattoos down her arm.

"Hey, I have an appointment with Pryce," I tell her, and she nods and tells us to wait for a second so she can get him.

"What are you getting?" Angel asks, and I pull my phone out to show her the visuals.

"Happiness over everything on the inside of my right ankle, and 444 and its definition on the back of my left hand with stars around it," I tell her, and she hands my phone back. After waiting for a couple of minutes, Pryce walks out, causing me to get up from my seat and hug him.

"How you doing, girl?" He asks after we release the hug and start walking back to his room. Angel stays in the lobby while I walk back with Pryce.

"I'm good. How bout you?" I ask as he opens that door, then closes it behind me.

"I'm good. I was surprised when I saw you booked an appointment with me. You know you could've just done a walk-in with me," He says as I sit on the tattoo table and he sits on his stool.

"I know, but I have something to do later today, and I didn't know if today was gonna be a busy or steady day. I didn't wanna take any chances," I tell him, shrugging.

"So, what are you thinking for today?" He asks me while bringing out his sketchbook and a pen.

"So, on my ankle, I want the word happiness over a line, and under the line is the word everything, with both words lowercase. Then, on the back of my left hand, I want 444 and the spiritual meaning, which is protection, intuitive, determined, and spiritual awakening," I tell him, and he nods, then puts down his book and goes to the thermal imager to make the stencil.

"Isn't one of your cousins a tattoo artist?" He asks, causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"Yea, on my mom's side, but she's a freelancer. Do you know her?" I ask him while picking up my phone and pulling up a game.

"Not personally, but I saw her work a couple of weeks ago," He states, causing me to nod. After a few more moments, he walks toward me with the stencil.
