"Issei?" Takahiro questioned. "Yes, Hiro?" Issei responded. "My mom wants me to go to the family gathering this weekend and I can't back out of it, what am I supposed to do?" Takahiro started, there was terror in his tone. "I'll go with you, it shouldn't be that bad right?" Issei responded, grabbing his husband's hand. "Actually I think it might have to do with R/n and that she is using a family gathering as an excuse to get me there," Hiro said, with a worried look.

"What makes you say that?" Matsun questioned. "She never forces me to go... no she never invites me, because it's too much for my family," he said gesturing to himself. Matsun clenched his jaw, knowing exactly what Maki was saying. "You don't have to go you know," Matsun stated, "She can't really do anything if you don't." Takahiro thought about it, his husband was right. "Then i won't go, what's the worst that can happen?" Maki said. "She could show up here at our doorstep," Matsun joked, nudging Maki. Maki didn’t find it funny. He pulled Takahiro to his chest, "I'm sorry Hiro I shouldn't have joked about that," he apologized. "It's fine Issei," Hiro said.

A few days after Maki was supposed to go to the "family gathering" there was a knock on their door. "I'll get it," Issei said, getting up. When he opened it, to his horror Hanamaki's parents were there, on there doorstep with R/n. "Hey Mr. And Mrs. Hanamaki what brings y'all here?" Matsun loud enough for Maki to hear. Maki quickly and quietly got off the couch, went into their shared bedroom, closed the the door silently, locked it and then hid in a spot in the room.

Matsun let three in the house after he saw Maki leave the living area. "We came to see *deadname*, she didn't show up are the gathering the other day. Is she here?" His mom stated. First of all Takahiro and HE. Second, no HE isn't here, HE went out and I don't know when HE'LL be back," Matsun said. He got glares from all three of them. "What are you looking for him anyway?" Issei asked. "To give HER a chance to turn HER life around," his dad said.

Matsun ball up his hand into a fist. "She was supposed to marry me and join families to start a company together," R/n said, with a smirk on his face. "And she still will," his mom said. "No HE won't," Issei said, you could hear the anger rising. "Yes SHE will, that is what her life is supposed to be and that's how it's going to be," his dad said. "What gives you the right?! Who do you think you are?! Who are you to say what HIS life will be?!" Matsun yelled out.

The three were taken aback. "Get out of our house," he choked out. It took a few minutes to get them out of the house, but when he did he called out, "Takahiro, it's alright to come out they're gone." Takahiro opened the door. Matsun noticed that he was crying and rushed over to him and wrapped him in a hug. "Thank you so much Issei for defending me against them," Hiro said through the tears and returned the hug. "Ofc love, I always defend you," Issei said.
