Following her affair scandal with actor Lee Dong Wook in 2019, Chaelin deactived her instagram multiple times and kept out of the public eye on numerous occasions. She even took a break due to anxiety and struggling with body dsymorphia.

→ January 2nd: It has been a year since the affair scandal. Dispatch once again issues a public apology and donates 50 Million won to Anti Bullying Programs in Chaelin's name.
→ January 5th: Chaelin does not attend the Golden Disk Awards with BTS.
→ 26th January: Chaelin returns to the spotlight at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards. ARMY's note how she looks considerably healthier and happier, smiling despite not winning an award.
→ 28nd January: Chaelin is present for the filming of the Late Show With James Cordon. She smiles and laughs at the "appropriate times", but doesn't talk much unless she is asked to by one of her bandmates.
→ January 31st: Chaelin reactivates her instagram.

February 2020
→ February 10th to February 13th: Chaelin appears in the MOTS:7 concept photos. ARMY's worry because she looks incredibly skinny and trend #OurFlowerChaelin on twitter.
→ February 18th: Chaelin posts on Twitter for Hoseok's birthday as well as on her instagram. She deactivates the comments sometime prior.

→ 21st February: MOTS: 7 is released. Chaelin's solo song "Celebrity" appears on the album, telling the story of how she feels being a celebrity and in the public eye. The song, though overall upbeat, has mostly dark undertones. It becomes the favourite solo on the album. Chaelin attends the Live Interview at the Plaza, although she once again doesn't speak much. Fans notice how she sits the furthest away from Namjoon.
