[17] Little Secret.

Incredibly, hanging out with Yuna was not as scary as I thought it would be. The stares from people still bothered me, but I ended up distracting myself and forgot a little about my discomfort. Going to the movies was a very fun experience, it is a place I want to go again. Although everything was going well, I missed Yeji, thinking about her made me anxious. It was late afternoon when Yuna and I decided to go home. It was still warm, and I was so happy when she bought me some ice cream. From my childhood, this was one of my favorite desserts. Whenever I was sad, my brother used to buy me ice cream. I remembered our childhood with nostalgia.

Yuna left me alone in the kitchen while she went to put away the things she had bought. Niki and Yunjin still hadn't returned from their meeting. Yeji and Lia were probably still working in the office. As I thought about Yeji, I remembered our goodbye earlier. I touched my lips, remembering the feeling. My body reacted strangely. I shook my head in confusion and opened the refrigerator in search of another ice cream. The heat had risen, and only something cold would relieve what I was feeling. I didn't even see Lia come into the kitchen, concentrating on just savoring the strawberry ice cream. I was startled when she held out a napkin, informing me that my mouth was dirty. Yeji's cousin looked at me in a strange way, staring at me with intensity.

I was embarrassed when she wiped my mouth with another napkin. Embarrassed and not knowing what to say, I told her that there was more ice cream in the refrigerator and that she could have it if she wanted. When Lia approached, I imagined that she would get the ice cream that was in the refrigerator. I never imagined that she would delicately suck on my mouth like that. I watched as she savored the candy that she had taken from my lips. Not only that, but I didn't know why she had done that. Likewise, I realized that there was a slight smile on her lips, I turned away startled, finally reacting to what she had done. A thought came to me, had she kissed me, or had she just wiped the honeydew on my mouth?

I was irritated to think of both possibilities. She had no right to do that to me, after all, she was a stranger. And I had not allowed her to be that intimate with me. When I tried to pull away, Lia grabbed me by the wrist and licked the ice cream. I was even more angry that, on top of everything else, she was taking advantage of my ice cream. Lia was even weirder, which made me even more scared. She pulled me closer, bringing us even closer together. Before I could stop myself, I felt her lips touch mine. Her body pressed against mine, pinning me to the countertop, preventing me from pulling away.

I felt her tongue slide inside my mouth. My God, what is she doing? I thought, confused, as I tried to pull away. I tasted mint in my mouth as she did this strange thing to me. Likewise, I heard someone call her name. She suddenly stopped and backed away. I heard her swear as if in protest. I rolled my eyes in shock at the word she said. She let go of my wrist and turned around slowly. Yeji was standing in the doorway looking at us. Her eyes were wide open. Her expression said that she was shocked. If I was shocked by what had happened in that kitchen, imagine my sister-in-law. I thought even more terrified.

"Lia." Yeji spoke her cousin's name slowly.

"Yes?" Lia replied the same way.

"What's going on here?" Yeji asked, still shocked.

"Nothing much." Lia replied, raising her shoulders as if nothing much had happened. I looked at her in surprise when I saw her calm expression.

"What do you think you are doing?" Yeji asked, raising her voice. I didn't know if she was talking to me or Lia, after all, she looked from Lia to me.

"We— I—" I couldn't answer, startled by her reaction.

"You don't have to act like that. You're scaring the girl." Lia replied, placing herself between Yeji and me.
