Ch 11. The lonely girl (Lexi's backstory)

Lexi didn't have a real family. Her parents were in The Resistance when they had her. It was hard for her parents, mostly when they went out to battle The Creators. They never knew if they would ever get to see their little girl again when they were out there fighting.
After years of worrying about that, the unexpected happened. One night, they went out to fight, and they never came back.
Lexi was 3 years old.
With no one to take care of her, the head of the RSS stepped in and took care of her. Even though he wasn't her real family, that was the closest she has had to one in a while.
He couldn't play with her all of the time, but when he could, he did.
Dolls.
House.
Heck, he even let her play with the small knives they had.
He always kept a close eye on her. He never had to go to battle, so he would always be there for her.
Anything she wanted, she got. She never asked for much, but when she did, she got it.
She got her own pod on the first floor. Waffles for breakfast. Growing up without real parents would be hard on anyone. So he wanted to make sure Lexi was happy.
As she grew older, she took on more dangerous tasks for The Resistance. Soon, she even became a guard. But he would never let Lexi go out to fight The Creators. Not after what happened to her parents. He cared about her too much.
Even though Lexi knew he wasn't her actual dad, she still treated him like it. Even though she called him “Sir”. She said it felt more natural.
Everyone loved Lexi. Not just him. EVERYONE aboard the RSS knew Lexi, and loved her to bits.
They would purposely give her the easiest tasks, just so she didn't have to work too much. No one wanted to see her suffer.
She never got in trouble. Not once. Not because no one let her, she just wasn't a bad kid.
She always said hi to everyone.
She never frowned.
She never cried. Even as a baby. She was so quiet as a baby.
It’s like, the trauma of not having parents never hit her.
Or maybe it did.
But even so, no one could tell.
Not even the head of the RSS.
