The Monster and the Superhero

The next day we arrived at the shed with some food for Eddie. "Delivery." Dustin said as he entered. "Jesus." We heard Eddie say as he called down.

He sat on the end of the boat, munching on cereal. "We have some good news and some bad news." Dustin said, "Which do you prefer first?" He asked. "Bad news first, always." Eddie said taking a sip of a drink.

"So we tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you. Oh and they're pretty convinced you killed Chrissy." Dustin explained. "Like one hundred percent convinced." Max added. "And the good news?" Eddie asked. "Your name hasn't gone public yet." I said. "But we found out about you, and once that gets out everyone and they're shallow-minded mother is going to be gunning for you." Robin explained. "Hunt the freak, right?" Eddie looked at me. "Exactly." I said, "So before that happens we need to find vecna, kill him and prove your innocence." Dustin added. "That's all Dustin. That's all?" Eddie said sarcastically. "Yeah, that's pretty much it."

"Look Eddie, I know what Dustin is saying may sound delusional but we've actually been through this type of thing before. I mean they have a few times and I have once, mine was more human flesh based and theirs was more smoke-related but bottom line is I really feel like we got this." Robin went on.

"Yeah see, we usually rely on y/n and this girl who has super powers but those went bye bye so..." "First of all you have me and the word you're looking for is brainstorm. We're in the brainstorming faze." I said.

"Wait why would they rely on you?" Eddie asked me, I looked at everyone and then back at Eddie. "Y/n has super powers." Dustin said. "So you're telling me this whole time I've known you. You've had powers?" Eddie asked me, I nodded in response. "Wait you two know each other?" Steve asked. "Yeah well we were in a few classes together." I said.

I noticed Steve clench his jaw, before we could say anything else we heard sirens. "Tarp." I said to Eddie, he nodded, the rest of us walked to the window. We saw an ambulance and police cars driving past.

We arrived at the scene and got out of Steve's car, I saw Nancy standing by some police officers answering questions. She smiled when she saw us and waved.

After a while Nancy came over to us, "Y/n, it's good to see you." She said as she hugged me. "Good to see you too, Jonathan sends his love." I said.

We sat down at a picnic table in the trailer park and explained everything to Nancy. "So you're telling me this, thing that killed Chrissy and Fred is from the upside down?" She asked. "Um, did Fred wear...glasses and a blue vest?" I asked interrupting Dustin. "Uh yeah? Why?" "I'm just trying to get a sense of what he looked like." I explained.

Dustin went on with his theory. "It doesn't make sense." Nancy said. "It's only a theory." "No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. Why them?" Nancy asked. "Maybe they were in the wrong place. They were both at the game." "And near the trailer park." Max mentioned. "Uh, we're at the trailer park should we maybe not be here?." Steve said worried. "There is something about this place, Fred started acting weird the second we got here." Nancy explained.

"Acting weird how?" I asked. "Scared, on edge, upset." Nancy said. "Max said Chrissy was upset too." Dustin mentioned. "Yeah, but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school." Max explained. "Serial killer stalk their prey before they strike, right?" Robin asked, making me feel uneasy. If Vecna was the one giving me those visions...I was snapped out of my thoughts. 

"I don't know about you guys, but if I saw some creepy wizard I would tell someone." Steve stated. I didn't tell anyone.

"Maybe they did. I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley's office. Of you saw a monster you wouldn't go to the police...they would never believe you, but you might go to your..." Max explained. "Your shrink." Robin finished.

We walked towards Steve and Nancy's cars, Nancy started walking towards her car. "Whoa, whoa, Nance. Nance!" Steve called out to her making her turn around. "Where are you going?" He asked. "There's just something I wanna check on first." Nancy responded. "Something you maybe wanna share with us?" Dustin asked. "I don't want to waste your time. It's a real shot in the dark." "Yeah, okay are you out of your mind?" Steve argued. "Flying solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No it's too dangerous. You need someone to..." "Here, I'll stick with Nancy. You guys take the car check out the shrink." Steve said tossing Robin the keys.

"I don't think you want me driving your car." Robin said. "Why?" "I don't have a license." "Why not?" "I'm poor." Robin said.

"I can drive." Max spoke up. "No! Never again! Please. Anybody but you." Steve argued, making me giggle. "All right okay this is stupid. I'll go with Nancy." Robin said handing Steve the keys and grabbing a walkie from Dustin. "Us ladies will stick together. Unless you think we need you to protect us." Robin said standing by Nancy.

We got to Ms. Kelley's house and waited for Max. "I'm gonna get some air." I said getting out of the car.

After a few minutes I walked back to the car. "Are you implying that I still have a thing for Nance?" I heard Steve asked. "You still have a thing for Nance?" I asked getting back into the car a little heart broken. "No! I was just trying to protect a friend, I don't want to find her in the morning with her eyes sucked out of her skull." Steve defended himself. "Mm-hmm." I said. "Y/n I love you. Nothing will ever change that." He said grabbing my hand from behind him. "You're blushing." Dustin said. "I am not, I will punch you so hard in your face your teeth will fall back out." Steve said.

"Woah. Too far." Dustin stated.
"Sorry."

Max came rushing out of the house, "What did she say?" Dustin asked as she got into the car. "Nothing just drive." She responded. "Nothing?" Steve asked. "Steve, just drive!" Max raised her voice. "Okay." Steve said starting the car before driving away.

We heard Dustin's walkie go off, "It's Lucas. Do you copy? Dustin." We heard Lucas speaking. "Lucas? Where the hell have you been?" Dustin responded  "Just listen. Are you looking for Eddie?" Lucas asked. "We found him, no thanks to you." Dustin said. "You found him?" "A boathouse on Coal Mill Road. Don't worry. He's safe."

"You guys know he killed Chrissy, right?" "That's bullshit. Eddie tried to save Chrissy." Then why do all the cops say he did it?" Lucas and Dustin started arguing. "Lucas, you're so behind it's ridiculous, okay? Just meet us at school. We'll explain later." Max leaned forward said grabbing the walkie.

"I... I can't. I think some real bad shit's
about to go down." Lucas said. "What are you talking about? What bad shit?" Max asked, the radio went silent. "Lucas?" I asked, nothing.

We arrived at the school, I was walking in the front with Max while Dustin and Steve contacted Nancy and Robin.

Max unlocked the door and we went inside, she went through some files in a draw. "Holy shit." She said. "You find it?" Dustin asked. "Yeah, not just Chrissy's files, Fred was seeing Ms. Kelley too."

Max sat down and read through the files, I noticed her look up. "What did you find?" I asked, no response. "Max?" I asked. "Max." I said as I shook her.
