I lifted myself through the tiny gate and looked around.

I heard a noise behind me, "Help me up." Robin said holding out her hand. "I told you guys to stay in the boat." I said helping them.

Before they could respond I heard a yell, I looked up and began to ran towards the sound, everyone following behind me. I saw Steve being choked by a bat creature while some were eating at his stomach.

I used my powers to launch them away, while Eddie, Robin and Nancy used oars to hit them. "Robin!" I yelled, flinging a bat off of her. More bats came towards us, I used my powers to tear them in half. I blasted the bat around Steve's neck before I got attacked.

I managed to get it off, Steve stood up and began to hit the bat on the ground before standing on it and tearing it apart.

We stood catching out breath. "Are you okay?" I asked looking at Steve's stomach. "They took about a pound of flesh but other than that, yeah never been better." He said as I checked his body for anymore wounds.

"Uh, do you guys think these bats have, like, rabies?" Robin asked, "What?" Nancy responded. "It's just that rabies are, like, my number one greatest fear. And I think we should get you to a doctor soon because once symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already dead." Robin explained. Thunder roared as bats screeched, we looked up, more bats flew down and landed by the gate. "All right. There's not that many. I can take 'em." I said getting ready to fire. We heard more screeching, I looked up to see about twenty more bats flying our way. "I take it back." I said, stepping back. "The woods. Come on." Nancy said as she started running, we followed close behind. "Great. More running." I heard Robin say.

~🌼~

We made it to Skull Rock and hid under the rock waiting for the bats to pass.

"That was close." Robin said as she got up and out from under the rock. "Too close." Eddie said as he followed her.

I was following Nancy out when I heard Steve. "Oh, sh... shit." He said, as he stumbled, holding the rock for support. "Steve? Jesus." I said going up to him. "I'm fine. I'm fine." He stuttered. "No, no, no. You're not. You're losing blood. Come on, sit." I told him holding onto his shoulders as he sat down. I examined the wounds before tearing off the bottom of my shirt.

"So the good news is I'm pretty sure wooziness is not a symptom of rabies. But if you start having hallucinations or muscle spasms or you start feeling aggressive, like you wanna punch me, let me know." Robin said as she knelt down "Robin." Steve responded. "Yeah?" "I kinda wanna punch you." Steve mentioned. "Sense of humor's still intact. That's a good sign." Robin awkwardly chuckled.

"Okay. You ready?" I asked as I held the fabric close  to Steve. "Yeah. Just do it." He responded.

I began to wrap it around his torso when he grunted. "Sorry." I said "It's okay." I felt him staring at me.  "Too tight?" I asked looking up at him. "No, that's good." I nodded in response and tied the fabric.  "All right." U said as I got up. "Thanks." He said as he got up.

"So, uh, this place is like Hawkins, but with monsters and nasty shit?" Eddie asked from ontop of a rock. "Pretty much." I responded holding Steve up. "Wait, watch out for the vines. It's all a hive mind." Nancy warned Eddie before he got down. "It's all a what?" "All the creepy crawlies around here. They're, like, one or something. Step on a vine, you're stepping on a bat, you're stepping on Vecna." Steve explained. "shit." He said slowly getting down.

"But everything from our world is still here, right? Except people?" Robin asked. "As far as I understand it, yeah." I responded. "So, theoretically, we could go to the police station and steal guns and grenades and whatever we need to blow up those bat things that are guarding the gate." Robin suggested. "I highly doubt the Hawkins PD has grenades, Robin. But guns, yeah, sure." Steve responded.

"Well, we don't have to go all the way downtown for guns. I have guns in my bedroom." Nancy mentioned. "You, Nancy Wheeler, have guns, plural, in your bedroom?" Eddie asked confused. "Full of surprises, isn't she?" Robin responded. "A Russian Makarov and a revolver." Nancy explained.

"Yeah, you almost shot me with that one." Steve mentioned. "You almost deserved it." She responded.

They looked at each other, Steve then got hit in the face by a jacket. "For your modesty, dude." Eddie said, Steve looked at the jacket before he put it on.

Suddenly the ground started to shake, I lost my balance and bumped into Steve, he caught me and wrapped his hand around my waist to steady us.

"Oh my god! So guns seem like a pretty good idea to me." Robin stated. "Yeah, me too." Eddie responded. "So what are we waiting for?" I asked walking behind Nancy.

~🌷~

Nancy, Robin and I were walking in front while Steve and Eddie trailed behind us. "Couldn't we have tried a road, or something just slightly less creepy?" Robin asked looking around "I think we're getting close. We're almost out of here. Don't worry." Nancy responded.

*Steve's POV*

"Eddie. Eddie. Hey, man. Uh... Listen, I just, uh... I just want to say thanks. For saving my ass back there." I said trying to make conversation. "Shit. You saved your own ass, man. I mean, that was a real Ozzy move you pulled back there." Eddie stated. "Ozzy?" I asked having no clue who he was talking about. "When you took a bite out of that bat. Ozzy Osbourne? Black Sabbath? He bit a bat's head off onstage. I don't... You know? Doesn't matter. No. It's very metal, what you did. That's all I'm saying." He explained.

"Thanks." I took the complement. "Henderson told me you were a badass. Insisted on the matter, in fact." Eddie broke the silence. "Henderson said that? Oh yeah. shit. Kid worships you, dude. Like, you have no idea. It's kinda annoying, to be honest. I don't even know why I care what that little shrimp thinks, but, uh, guess I got a little jealous, Steve. Rich parents, popular, chicks love him. Not a douche? No way, man. No way. That, like, flies in the face of all the laws in the universe and my own personal Munson doctrine. Still super jealous as hell, by the way. Which is why I would never have jumped in that lake to save your ass. Not under any, uh... normal circumstances. Nope. Outside of D&D, I am no hero. I see danger and I just turn heel and run. Or at least that's what I've learned about myself this week." Eddie ranted

"Give yourself a break, man." I said patting his shoulder. "See? The only reason I came in here was 'cause those ladies came in straight after you. Now, I was too ashamed to be the one who stayed behind." Eddie said pointing towards Robin, Nancy and y/n.

"But y/n right there, she didn't waste a second. Not one second. She just dove right in. Now, I don't know what happened between you two, but if I were you, I would get her back. 'Cause that was as unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen." Eddie mentioned.

I thought about the night we got into a fight, I looked at y/n. I missed her.

"Goddamn it! Here we go again." Eddie said as the ground began to shake again.

*Y/n POV*

"Second on my list of least favorite things, earthquakes. Seriously, I'm unsteady enough as it is." Robin said as I held onto her. "Nancy! Where are you going? Nancy! Nancy! Come on." I yelled as Nancy ran off.

The shaking stopped, we ran after Nancy to find her standing in front of her house.
