It's been days. Doyoung hasn't seen Yedam get out of his house, or maybe he just hasn't noticed, but his car is still parked in the same spot. And it worries him. It's hard to ignore him, Yedam used to be his best friend after all

Doyoung always checks the guy's house, from morning till now, evening. But no sign of Yedam. Many times he wanted to knock on his door, but he can't bring himself to do it. He is afraid of what he might find, or how Yedam might react. Doyoung still remembers the last time they "talked", when he tried to warn Yedam about Dami's affair. Yedam didn't believe him, and accused him of being jealous and trying to ruin his relationship. He shouted at him. He's scared that might happen if he get closer to Yedam again

Doyoung flinches when his phone suddenly rings. He looks at who's calling him, it's Yedam's Mom. "Hello, Mrs. Bang, what made you call?" Doyoung starts, trying to sound casual

"Ah, Kim Doyoung. It's nice hearing from you again" Yedam's Mom says, there is a second pause before she finally asks what she called for. "Doyoung-ah... Is everything okay with Yedam?" She asks, her voice sounding worried and anxious

Doyoung feels a pang of guilt and sadness. He knows that Yedam's Mom loves her son very much, and that she has no idea what kind of girlfriend Yedam has and how foolish he is. It saddens him that one day, once they find out that Dami is a wholeass cheater, it will not only hurt Yedam, but also his mom. He wonders if he should tell her the truth, but he decides against it. It's not his place to do so, and he doesn't want to cause more trouble. "Why? Mrs. Bang?" He asks, pretending to be clueless

"It's just... I tried to call him earlier plenty of times, but he hasn't answered me" Mrs. Bang says. "I was just about to ask him about the visit. He said he'll going to introduce his girlfriend to us. Maybe I'm just too excited that I called when they're on their way to us?" She says, chuckles a bit, trying to lighten the mood

Doyoung forces a smile, even though he knows that Yedam is not on his way to visit his mom, and that his girlfriend is probably with someone else right now. He feels sorry for Mrs. Bang, who is looking forward to meeting her future daughter-in-law, not knowing that she is a liar and a cheater. He wishes he could say something to comfort her, but he doesn't know what to say. "Doyoung-ah, is he there at his house? If you see him, please let him know I called him" she says, hoping for a positive answer

"I- I will, Mrs. Bang" Doyoung says, lying to her. He knows that he won't see Yedam anytime soon, and that he doesn't have the courage to talk to him

"Thank you, Doyoung. I hope you can also visit us one day" she says, causing Doyoung to smile. He misses the times when he used to visit Yedam's family, and they treated him like their own son. He wonders if they will ever be like that again. "Bye for now, Doyoung" she says, ending the call

"Bye, Mrs. Bang" Doyoung says, and brings down his phone. He sighs, feeling a mix of emotions. He is worried about Yedam, angry at Dami, and sorry for Mrs. Bang. He doesn't know what to do, or how to fix things. He looks at Yedam's house, and feels a surge of determination. He decides to go there, and see for himself what's going on. He thinks that maybe he can help Yedam, or at least try to make him see the truth. He tells himself that a visit to his house won't hurt, probably. He is still scared of the guy, the way Yedam acted last time left a nightmare in him. But he also cares about him, and he doesn't want to lose him as a friend

"Ahh, damn it" Doyoung says, standing up from his bed and heading downstairs. He goes outside, and walks towards Yedam's house, hoping for the best

And he's there, right in front of Yedam's house. All he does is stand and stare at the door for probably a minute now. He can't, he just can't bring himself to show up in front of him. Doyoung closes his eyes, breathes out, gathering all of his guts. He then raises his hand and knocks on the door softly, hoping that Yedam will hear him and open up

But no one opens for him. He tries to knock again, now with more force. But still, the door doesn't open. Is he sleeping? But that's odd if he is, it's still 7 in the evening and he knows Yedam always sleeps late. He looks at the window and notices how dim the inside of his house is. There's only a little light flickering probably from the TV. Is he watching movies? But he could have opened the door if he does, right?

Doyoung knocks on the door again. "Y- Yedam" this time he tries to call the guy's name. "Yedam, it's me, Doyoung" he says, his voice sounding nervous and concerned. But after all of that, no response or anything happens

Is there something wrong? Why is he not answering? Why is he not opening the door? Doyoung thinks. He wants to leave the guy's house, but there's a part of him telling him that something off is happening. He hasn't seen Yedam going out for days, heck he didn't answer his mom's calls

This concerns Doyoung, he wants to check on the guy now, but how can he, no one even opened the door. Doyoung then remembers that Yedam has a duplicate key hidden in his pot. Doyoung immediately looks for it. After finding it, he takes a deep breath and unlocks the guy's house. He may seem like a trespasser, but he has no choice. He is too worried about Yedam to care about the consequences

He opens the door slowly, goes inside, and closes it. The living room is dim, the only light shining in the area is the TV. He immediately sees the guy sitting on the floor, leaning his back on the couch with his head lowered. He looks like he is in a trance, oblivious to the world around him. He slowly walks towards the guy, and on his way, he accidentally knocks down a can of beverages. He looks down at the floor and sees a finished cup of ramen and a few empty cans of beer

"What's going on with him?" He mutters under his breath. Why is he getting himself drunk? Did something happen to him? Is it about our fight? Doyoung doubts that. Maybe there is another reason why he is like that now. He thinks. He brings his hand slowly to the guy's head and gently lifts his face. Doyoung is a little surprised when he sees the man sleeping. He notices the deep dark bags under the guy's eyes, and also he seems like he's been crying. Doyoung can see a little tears on his lashes

But if that's the case, why though? Why is he crying? What happened? Doyoung wonders. He feels a surge of pity and affection for the guy. He wants to hug him, comfort him, and make him feel better. But he knows he can't bring himself to do all of that things

Yedam wakes up, and finds himself already on the couch, laying comfortably. He immediately gets up, shocked. Weird, he was just sitting on the floor last night, how did he end up sleeping here? Maybe he was too drunk to remember what he did

He puts his palm on his forehead as his head starts to ache. He stands up and is about to get some pills, but he suddenly notices his surroundings. It's now clean. There's no trash or empty cans of beer to be seen, unlike last night

"Who in the world?" He wonders, confused. Did someone come here last night? He goes to the kitchen and gets the pills, still thinking about what could have happened last night. He then checks the trash and sees all the cans there. Someone really came here and cleaned. But who? He swears he locked himself in this house last night. No one else can get in here

Unless.... "Kim Doyoung?" He says, his eyes widening. He remembers that Doyoung was the only one who had a spare key to his house. Did Doyoung come here to check on him, and see him in such a pathetic state? Did he clean up his mess, and put him on the couch? Did he care about him, even after he treated him so badly?
