Doyoung slowly opened his eyes, then immediately covered his sight as the light from the window burned his eyes. He groaned and turned his head away, feeling a headache coming on. He gave himself a good minute before he finally got up and sat on his bed. He looked at the other bed and saw that it was empty. He looked down and ran his hand through his hair. He still remembered what happened last night, and he still regretted it

He was so stupid. He was so stupid for confessing, he was so stupid for making out with his best friend, he was so stupid for falling in love with him

He wished he could erase the memory of the kiss and drunken confession followed. He wished he could go back to the time when they were just friends, when he could hide his feelings and pretend that everything was fine

His thoughts were interrupted when the door opened and the person he didn't want to see right now entered the room. He lowered his head, trying to avoid looking at Yedam. He could hear the guy's footsteps, the only sounds breaking the silence inside the room. He felt his heart beating faster and his palms sweating. He didn't know what to say or do. He didn't know how Yedam felt about him or what he wanted from him

He then got nervous when the sound of footsteps stopped. He slowly looked up and saw Yedam standing not far from him. Yedam had a neutral expression on his face, but Doyoung could see the awkwardness in his eyes

"Y- You're awake" Yedam said, breaking the ice

"Breakfast will be in a minute. You should come out" Yedam added, trying to sound casual

Silence

He cleared his throat nervously. "Doyoung" he started. He could see Doyoung tense up, knowing what he was going to ask. A question that he didn't want to hear, a question that he had been avoiding since last night

"About what you said last night..." he continued, trying to sound casual. He hoped that Doyoung would open up to him, that he would explain what he meant, what he felt. He hated the awkward silence that had fallen between them. He wanted to understand Doyoung, to help him, to comfort him

Doyoung felt a lump in his throat, making it hard for him to breathe. He wished he could just pretend that nothing happened, that he didn't say those words, that he didn't ruin their friendship. He wished he could just act like everything was normal, like they were still the best friends they had always been. But he knew that was impossible. He knew he had crossed a line, that he had changed everything, that he had to face the consequences of his actions

"Do you really mean it?" he asked with sincerity, looking into Doyoung's eyes. He wanted to know the truth, the whole truth. He didn't want Doyoung to leave him hanging, to leave him with no explanation, to leave him alone
