He could vaguely hear shouting as he continued to reapply new layers of fabric onto Y/N's wound. She whimpered as he prodded a bit too close to where the arrow was stuck through her. Impaled right through her body- like she was skewered on it. The pain she must be bearing right now...
"Childe!" He didn't look up, but he knew who it was. Lumine ran over to him, falling to her knees beside Y/N, her eyes wide when she spotted her wound. "Childe...? What- what happened?" Childe grit his teeth when he spotted red beginning to seep through the next layer. He had just applied a new one- and yet... His first aid skills weren't the best, but he knew that that was definitely not a good sign. "She.. she just wanted to help," He said simply. Lumine was silent, leaning over slightly to inspect the pyro infused arrow. "...Hilichurl?" He nodded curtly. "Lumine?" Lumine glanced over to him. "Yes? Do you- do you want me to help?" He shook his head. "If you're wondering..." He sighed. "This... is my kitty." Y/N sniffled as she blinked back tears. Lumine startled. "Huh? Wait... oh. Oh my archons." He didn't say anything else, instead returning his focus to Y/N in front of him. Her skin was getting paler, he thought. She was losing too much blood.
"Harbinger." The adeptus materialised beside them in a wisp of anemo. Besides his polearm, which was covered in grime and blood, he was perfectly unscathed and clean. Childe could't help but envy him. "Step aside." Childe frowned. "Wait, why?" He protested. "I'm not gonna leave Y/N alone. She-" "She's obviously in pain," Xiao pointed out. "And whatever you're doing isn't helping. She's a demon, she requires different treatment than mortals do." Mortals? Not- not humans? The thought left his mind when Xiao pushed him aside. Childe's protests died on his throat when he Xiao knelt down in his place. His brows furrowed when the adeptus peeled away the layers of fabric, revealing the wound. Xiao paused for a moment. Then, he reached forward and grabbed the arrow from it's base. "Wait, what are you-" He yanked upwards, in one fluid motion, pulling the arrow from Y/N's body. She screeched in pain, her arm lashing out and slashing her claws across Xiao's outstretched arm- the latter of which said nothing, despite the blood already beginning to well across his own wound. "You idiot!" Childe roared. "Why would you- look- it's even worse now, you hurt her-" Xiao stood up, tossing the bloody arrow aside.
"Like I said," Xiao said quietly. "She is a demon. She's different from you all." With that, he turned and left. Childe got to his feet. "Hey- hey, where are you going? Come back here I'm not done talking to you!" "Childe." He turned. Lumine sat, hugging her knees to her chest as she stared at Y/N with wonder. He followed her gaze.
Y/N was- sleeping. A peaceful expression rested on her face, her features relaxed. And the puncture wound, from the arrow, had already stopped bleeding. In fact, it was- it was healing itself- skin knitting itself back together, closing the wound until only faint scar tissue remained. And after a few seconds, even that disappeared, leaving fair, unmarred skin. Y/N continued to doze. She was fine. And Childe- for the first time in the last half day- breathed a sigh of relief.

Alatus: Adeptus Xiao
Demons. Abominations of mankind, monsters, flesh eating manifestations of the god of hell. When he had become an adeptus, he had sworn that whenever he encountered one, he would slaughter it without hesitation. After seeing- first hand- what those things were capable of, the misery and distraught they brought... there was no way he could allow those beings to live. And yet...
War was a terrible thing, a young Xiao thought as he stood surrounded by the corpses of his foes. It wasn't necessarily because of the death of those humans, slain at his hands. They were the ones to blame for this mess. Maybe, maybe that was why the master had ordered him to commit these crimes. But no, it wasn't the killing that bothered him. He felt as if this war had no purpose- other than to gain intangible power. What was the point, of having a hold over other people? To call yourself a monarch of the unwilling and weak? Xiao did not know.
