It was just a day as any other. The couple had spent the whole day with each other, and Floyd had fallen asleep while they are cuddling.

Yuu didn't need to hatch an elaborate plan to kill Floyd; how elaborate could she be when she had to stay in the cabin and her only possible weapon was a kitchen knife?

She was glad he had fallen asleep. It would make killing him easier. She shook her head, pursing her lips tightly. She couldn't believe what she was doing, even as she walked to the kitchen to grab the knife.

Returning to the bed, she paused once again, staring at his sleeping form. 'No way. I'm not really about to do this, am I?" She took a few steps forward, suddenly feeling weak in her arms.

'I don't know if I can do this...' Her thoughts grew more and more uncertain as she leaned over him, moving the knife to his neck. This was her precious eel she was about to kill.

And yet, for whatever reason, she didn't back away.

Maybe it was knowing that once she did it, it would all be over. No more panic over a murderer boyfriend. No more guilty snuggles. No more Floyd Leech.

Her breath hitched as she raised the knife, shutting her eyes tightly before opening them again, readying herself to bring the knife down on his neck. And so, after a few moments, she jammed it downwards as heavily as she could.

A large hand caught it, ripping the knife from her hands violently and flipping their positions so now she was the one on the bed with a knife to their throat.

"W-What are you doing, Lil' Shrimpy?"

The way he stared down at her looked so sad, so innocent, so betrayed, as though he was a hurt child. "Why would you..? Do you not love me anyone?" His voice shook with every word, as though he was on the verge of tears.

"Shrimpy, w-why..? I thought we were gonna have our perfect forever together..!" A tear rolled off of Floyd's face and landed on Yuu's cheek. She brought a hand up to him and wiped away the tears. "Ev-everything was perfect, and..." He continued blubbering.

The knife's pressure increased and Yuu moved to push against it, trying to force it off of her neck before it was too late. "Floyd, drop the knife! You're not thinking straight!"

"But you tried... you tried to kill me in my sleep!"

He was right. She'd started this. She knew that this was a possible outcome, but she wanted an out from the mundaneness that her life had taken on.

"I did."

"Why!?"

She let out a sigh and relaxed her arm muscles, allowing him the ability to run the knife through her neck if he chose to. Yet, he remained silent.

"...I'm getting bored," she finally spoke, curling her lips into a half-smile.

A switch seemed to flip inside of Floyd and he was no longer acting panicked and erratic. He drew away from her, fidgeting with the knife in his hands as they sat side by side on the bed.

"So, you don't love me anymore."

"I do, but... life's not providing me with enough energy to greet you with a perfect smile anymore. I'm bored. And tired." Yuu curled her knees to her chest, turning to him with a plastered-on smile. "I'll accept the outcome if you want me dead."

His expression contorted and he stared at her sadly. "I could never want you dead, Lil' Shrimpy..."

Her face fell. 'Oh. Seems I'd been hoping for that outcome, after all.'

"Do you... wanna die? ...Never mind, don't answer that. I don't wanna know." His voice hushed as he talked until it ended in a whisper. His poor, sad Little Shrimp had grown so flavorless, even when everything was supposed to be perfect. When she was supposed to be perfect.

He tossed the knife somewhere to the side and held her close, burying her head in his chest and twirling her hair. "Do you feel nothing?" he asked, voice even softer than before.

And much to his dismay, she shook her head.
