"El no me amaba como yo lo amaba." he didn't love me the way i loved him. I mutter, a frown touches my lips and before I know it my eyes are blurring with warm tears.

"Ay dios mío." oh my god. She says almost inaudibly, I still catch her disappointment though and hot burning tears run down my face and fall onto the countertop.

"How are you supposed to take care of yourself? Pay your bills and make it further in life than that restaurant mija" My mom croaks out, she's reasonably upset and taken-aback at the sudden news.

"I don't know mamá, but I promise you that i'll make you proud somehow.. dame tiempo por favor." give me time please. I plead as my voice cracks and salty tears sliver into my mouth. I grip the counter with my fingers.

"Mija que vas a pensar la familia? Tu hermana esta ya lista para progresar en la vida pero tu?" whats our family going to think? your sister is all ready to progress in life but you? She huffs, I know she wants to say so much more but she pauses as I quietly let out rough breaths.

She's right, of course she is. My sister already is working as a nurse just like my mother did before she retired and shes marrying an engineer, but me? I'm a waitress at a restaurant that's paying me a little over minimum wage and I dumped my soccer boyfriend.

I'm the odd one out as much as I don't want to admit it and i'm letting down my parents. "Se le voy a decir a tu papá." Im going to tell your father. She murmurs before hanging up on me. I'm not upset with her for the way she's reacting and I know my father would be equally as disappointed as she is.

I'm only thankful that it was my mother on the line and not my father. That man would've had me in shambles if I had to tell him the news I just told my mother. Valeria Morgan is one thing but Michael Morgan was another.

In the mist of silence I get a buzz on my phone, reluctantly I raise my phone to my eyes, blinking the tears away so I could actually see the notification.
