Nightmare flinched in shock and turned around. He stared at the golden figure in front of him, his eyelight narrowing in panic. The guardian quickly masked his panic and growled, his tentacles ready to stab the other. "Dream." He hissed out.

Dream quickly raised his hands in surprise. "Wait wait I didn't come here for a fight! Well, I originally was but-" Dream just shook his skull. "I just... I felt you in this dream for a while now and I've been wondering why it hasn't even turned to a Night Terror yet... Especially since you've been doing that quite a bit in this AU." Dream sheepishly spoke, he was mostly just confused.

Nightmare stared at Dream in disbelief. "This is non of your business. And how should I know that you aren't lying?" He growled, his cyan eyelight staring daggers at the other. His tentacles twitched slightly and for a brief moment, Nightmare looked up where Error was.

"Brother, you and I can sense lies, I'm sure you could call out my lies from literally a mile away." Dream said softly, he then watched Nightmare in confusion before turning to look to where Nightmare was looking, but seeing nothing. Error was already past the clouds, after all.

The guardian blinked. "Oh right... I forgot-" He mumbled, looking at the sky once again, getting worried. Nightmare, this is a dream, remember? Error can't get hurt here. Typical parents.

"Are... You okay? You're not normally this distracted." Dream couldn't help but worry as he glanced at Nightmare. "Also... It's... Quite odd to feel your worry... Is there something in the clouds or-" Dream couldn't help but ask, looking back at the clouds again.

Nightmare shook his head slightly. "This is non of your concern." He hissed and glared at the other guardian. He wasn't as aggressive or angry as he seemed to be, his main emotion was worry and panic. The guardian tried his best to distract Dream, while also finding out where Error was.

Dream quickly turned to Nightmare in surprise. "Okay okay!" Dream then waved his hand a bit. "I just wanna know on how this mostly hasn't turned to a Night Terror yet..." Dream muttered, looking around the area. "And I didn't really think of you be into this type of... Stuff..." Dream couldn't help but trail off when he saw the familiar apple tree.

Glancing at the black apples, he quickly glanced away when memories of the incident began flashing in his mind. Ignoring his growing negativity with ease as he then turned to Nightmare, he then pouts at him. "Brother come on, I just wanna know!"

Nightmare groaned in annoyance. "Why does it even matter to you?" He grumbled, crossing his arms with a glare.

"Because!" Dream huffed childishly. "You rarely ever feel this way! So I'm kinda curious..." Dream sheepishly said. "Is this related to your reason on why you fled in the middle of our battle?" Dream couldn't help but ask.

Nightmare frowned, his tentacles twitching. He then quickly shook his head. "What? No, why would it be?" He growled. Nightmare... you can't lie to the guardian of positivity. "Brother..." Dream trailed off, an amused look on his face. "You can't lie to me."

Nightmare blinked lightly and cursed to himself, before he looked up at the sky once again. "It's still non of your concern. And don't call me brother! You use that word like it's my name-"

"But Brother!" Dream pouts at Nightmare before looking up at the sky as well. "Speaking of which... I'm surprised you never initiated an attack, only a threat. Usually you don't hesitate around me... Are you going soft, brother?" Dream couldn't help but tease playfully.
