"A strange bunch there, huh?" Willie asked Spencer

"You're telling me," Spencer said

"Spencer James?" Willie asked

"That's right. Do I know you?" Spencer asked

"Heh heh! No, but I know you. You're all the talk around the neighborhood these days. South Crenshaw's star wide receiver booking it to Beverly. Hmm. One of Billy's boys now, hmm?" Willie asked

"That's right," Spencer said

"So you here for the party?" Willie asked

"The party's for me and my sister, actually. It's our birthday, and we live here." Spencer said

"Is that right?" Billy asked

"I'm sorry. I ain't catch your name." Spencer said

"Willie, Willie Baker. I'm Billy's dad." Willie said

"I thought you two didn't speak," Spencer said

"We don't. Haven't in a long time, anyway, not since he married Laura. If only he could've held on to your mom." Willie said

"Wait. My mom and coach Baker?" Spencer asked

"Oh, yeah, man! They were thick as thieves all through high school. Thought for sure they were gonna end up together. Never seen two kids so much in love." Willie said

"Hey no need to explain yourself," Madison said as Maya ran up to her.

"Mads can I have some cookies?" Maya asked

"Can you have some cookies of course you can let me just introduce you to someone first," Madison told Maya

"Okay," Maya said

"Jordan this is Maya she's one of my friend's daughters," Madison said

"Nice to meet you, Maya," Jordan said

"Nice to meet you too," Maya said holding out her hand for him to shake and he shook it.

"Well see you around Baker," Madison told Jordan

"Um.. can we talk later," Jordan said

"Yeah, I'd like that," Madison asked

"Yeah okay," Jordan said

"Hey," Asher said walking up to Layla

"Hey," Layla said

"Have we been here long enough?" Asher asked

"I wasn't timing our attendance," Layla said

"Well, I'm ready to go," Asher said

"Are you sure? I don't think everybody at the party's heard about daddy's Black Cards. I told you today I did not want to be a part of this." Layla said

"And you weren't," Asher said

"When you embellish and.." Layla said getting cut off by Asher.

"Just say the word," Asher said
