𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚

There were two guards at entrance, well armed, pointing riffles against me but they didn't shoot

"Who are you?" Said one of the guards, still aiming at me

"I'm Phil"

He looked at his colleague and then added

"We never see you there, we cannot trust you" Replied the guard

"Can you please ask Maria? She knows who am I" I said firmly

"Are you armed? Do you have a gun?" He asked

"Well of course I have one, or I would have not been there alive!" I spontaneously responded

"Ok drop it down in front of you and put your hands up, were not gonna shoot at you so trust us" He said and so I did dropping my gun down in front of me

But they didn't know that I had a butterfly knife on my right pocket, that was the only thing that I didn't declared as I didn't trust them

"Can you please call here Maria? She knows who am I and surely she'll let me in" I asked again

"Should we call Maria and trust him?" Asked the other guard to his colleague

"I don't know, can you repeat your name?" Said the first guard

"I'm Phil" I replied

A few minutes passed while they were deciding if they should trust me or not, at the end I heard one of the guard saying in his radio

"Hey Bobby, can you please send here Maria, there's someone who tells to be known by her"

"Yeah sure Derek, just to know, what's his name?" Asked the one on the radio

"He says his name is Phil" Replied the guard

"I'm informing Maria right now, she should be there in 5 minutes max"

"Thank you Bobby." Said the guard, and then looked at me asking

"So why are you here?"

"Long story. . ." I told him, not wanting him to know my business

"Ok, if you say that. Do you know someone that lives here?" Replied without stopping aiming at me

"Uhm- Kind of it" I replied and then I bravely asked them, not knowing which would have been their reaction

"So why don't you please take these guns down guys?"

"Orders, sorry but we can't" Said his colleague preceding the other

"Ok fine" I accepted that but still didn't feel safe with those guns pointed right at me, remembering I still had my knife in the pocket, just for safety.

After a few minutes I heard the gate opening, it was Maria who made it open and the guard told her

"Maria, there's this guy who says-"

"Oh my-" She said as soon as she saw me cutting him off

"Are you really you?" Asked as she was really surprised of that

"Yes I am" I replied smiling

"Guys take the guns down, he's alright" Maria said to the two guards that immediately took them down

Then she walked towards me and hugged me whispering

"I thought you were dead but I always hoped you were alive"

"Well now you'll have to deal with me" I said almost laughing

After that we entered the city, still talking about my story and how I got there.

She saw that I was a little scratched and had some of my own blood on my arms, so she asked me.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, all right," I replied.

"Are you sure? You have blood in your arms!" She insisted on knowing more

"Yeah yeah, all right. I just had to climb a rock wall and got scratched a little, but nothing to worry about."

After talking a little I asked her

"What about Ellie? Have you seen her?"

"She went on patrol with Joel and Tommy, but should be back in about an hour. Oh she's gonna be so happy to see you once again!" She replied enthusiastically

"What if we make her a surprise?" She added

"Yeah, that should be cool! But how do we make it?" I replied

"You just have to stay in her house and make yourself at home, then as she comes in-"

"She'll shoot at me, I sure about that, I know that girl really well" I cut her off almost laughing

"She won't kill you, don't worry, I will think personally about that" She reassured me

Maria took me to Ellie's house and I did a fast tour of it, then Maria closed the door behind me and left me alone there
