Y/n's POV

Lori screamed in pain

"What's wrong" I ask worriedly while holding her up on her feet

"The baby's coming" she says in pain

'Now is NOT the time' I say to myself in my head

"Ok we'll get you somewhere safe. C'mon Carl" I say while walking through the halls of the prison trying not to attract any unwanted guests

Lori screams in pain again

"It's ok we'll find a safe place, I know we will" I say while trying to pick up the pace while also helping Lori walk

We hear walkers behind us

"Crap" I say in a whisper

"In here" Carl says while opening a door to our left

We quickly get in and close the door

"I can't wait any longer" Lori says in visible pain

"Ok push" I say while trying to help her

"Good, you're doing great babe" I say

"Push" I say again

"Wait, wait, stop... something isn't right" I say

"What do you mean" Carl asks worried for his mom

"You have to do a c section" she says

"I cant. I don't have any equipment... you'll die" I say

"We have no choice" she says laying on the ground

"Carl give Y/n your knife" she says

"No... there has to be another way" he says crying

"There isn't sweetie. It'll be ok" she says comforting him

"Lori please" I say as I start to cry

"Hon listen to me, there isn't any other way. I had a c section with Carl and I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it again but..." she says with a sigh at the end

"Hershel taught Carol how to do this I don't know how" I say while tears flow down my face

"I believe in you" she says with a weak smile

I take a deep breath in

"Ok" I say wiping the tears off my face

"Carl come here" she says

They have a very heartfelt conversation (that I'm not gonna write because I'm lazy)

"Ok I'm ready" she says holding Carl's hand

"See my old c section scar?" She asks

"Yea" I say sadly

"Cut right there" she says

I take another deep breath in

"You can do this. I believe in you" she says with another weak smile

"I love you" I say

"I love you both" she says

I position the knife where her old c section scar was and I cut her open

She screams a blood curdling scream

"What are you doing to her?!" Carl asks while tears flood down his face

Then it's quiet

Blood is everywhere and there are tears in my eyes

I try to feel for the baby

"Carl I need your help" I say

He's hesitant

"Carl please" I say desperately

I continue to try and find the baby

"I feel it's ear" I say

I try to find it's leg

"I can't tell if that's it's arm or leg" I say

"I have to pull it out" I say while gently but quickly pulling the baby out

I pull the baby out but it's not breathing. I flip it over and pat it's back in hopes it saves it. Then the sound of crying fills the room.

I let out a sigh of relief

I look at Lori's body and I start to cry again. I start to walk out of the room

"Wait, we can't leave her to turn" Carl says

I start to grab my gun

"No. I should be the one to do it... she's my mom" he says

"...carl-" I say but get cut off by him

"No. Let me do it" he says determined but still visibly sad

I hesitantly hand him my gun

'I can't watch this' I say to myself in my head

I walk up the stairs and wait by the door. I hear a gun shot and it makes me jump and start crying again. I see Carl walk up the stairs. He doesn't even look at me and opens the door to walk out.
