'Please!!', she whined for about the billionth time. I groaned, she's been bothering me all day and I was getting a headache.

'No Shelly', I told her once again. 'I can't ditch' I swear this girl does not listen.

'It's not ditching if you come back', she whined again.

'Uh, actually it is', I told her. Is she seriously that clueless.

'It is?', she asked. I sighed ,'So! We'll be back before anyone will notice' I felt my headache get worse and I cracked under pressure. Gosh!

'Fine but you owe me', I said caving in. Shelly is my wolf and she wanted to leave school to go for a run but I didn't want to get in trouble by my very strict foster parents. If I got caught I'd be grounded for sure.

'Yes!', she shouted happily. I rolled my eyes.

'But-', she groaned, '-We have to be back before school ends'

'Yeah yeah okay. Lets go, lets go!' I laughed at how my wolf was so excited for just a run but I guess I understand. After my first turn I stopped shifting. When I didn't shift at the age of twelve which is the regular age for a turn, people thought my wolf was defected and treated me like I was a disgrace and even when I did finally turn nothing changed just got worse. Every time I was in wolf form going for a run and some of the pack members were out too they would growl and attack me. It was mostly teenagers but there was still a lot of them. I stopped going for runs which made Shelly sad but she had to deal with it unless she wanted to keep getting hurt. I never told my foster parents because well they're human. It may be weird like why are they human and your a werewolf? Well I guess my parents were werewolves but I don't know for sure. They passed away before they were able to tell me anything. I was four when they were killed, 'Bear attack' I remember the news saying. But now I know it wasn't any bears that did what they did to my parents. It was wolves, rouges. My parents were gone and I was in foster care for nine months before a family adopted me.

But even if it was when I was four I still missed them like crazy.

I felt my eyes sting with unshed tears threatening to escape my eyes that promised not to shed anymore tears since I had my break down. 'Hey it's okay', Shelly tried comforting me. Although she barely came last year she still feels the pain of the loss of family, it's her family too. 'Maybe a run will help', she suggested hopefully. I laughed at her trying to cheer me up while still getting what she wants. Shelly sure did know how to cheer me up with her selfishness.

Being my sneaky conniving self I just slipped out of class without the teacher even noticing. Idiot. Exiting out the back of the school, I was free! Walking a little further down was the edges of the forest which Shelly was practically shoving me through. Going behind a big maple tree, I shed off my clothes because I didn't want to be butt naked shifting back.

Focusing on my wolf I felt the heat of my wolf climbing to the surface until it wrapped around me in a warm cocoon. My hands and feet turned to giant paws, my skin sprouting warm fur, my nose stretching into a snout, I was now a wolf and Shelly was loving it.

I took off going deeper into the woods. I knew exactly where I was going. There was a small creak that was just so peaceful and quiet just on the outskirts of the territory. I was running at full speed and by the time I made it there my legs were on fire. Collapsing on the floor by the creak, I lapped up some water which helped take the burn off my lungs and moist my dry throat. When I finally got my breathing back to normal I got up. I saw a butterfly flying around and I couldn't help it. I started jumping around trying to catch it. I thought I looked quite silly but Shelly loved it. Every time I'd get close to catching it the butterfly will fly higher making me jump just to try to catch it, it seemed like it was playing with me. Too much jumping had me tired so I laid down, my head on my front paws and the butterfly took off.

I sat there for a while just loving how peaceful it was and the wind blowing through my fur. A snap snapped me out of my faze. Shit, it's probably the pack. 'You see this is why I didn't want to go running!'

'Michelle I don't think it's the pack it smells foreign and dirty', Shelly said sounding alert.

Sniffing the air, it did smell foreign and dirty. Like rouges. Crap, backing up slowly I linked Alpha Jared, 'Alpha, there are rouges on the northern border.'

'Get out of there Michelle we're on our way, RUN!', when he said run, I was out of there. Running I heard paws hitting the ground right behind me. Ugh run faster, I told myself. I felt someone nip my leg and I let out a little whimper but didn't stop. Suddenly I was falling with a heavy weight on top of me. I was pinned to the ground and I couldn't move an inch. I was panicking and I knew this was the end. There was no way the Alpha would make it on time.

'What are you doing!? Michelle get up we're not going out like this!', Shelly screamed.

She's right, I'm not going to die like some pathetic wolf. 'Shelly, take over', I commanded my wolf. With her taking control I might just make it. When a wolf is in full control their instincts take over completely which is exactly what can help us get out of here alive.

Shelly took over and I no longer felt in control. I was just watching everything from her eyes. I had no control what so ever.

When I was given control, I was so excited. Michelle never gave me control fully but I knew why she finally did, she needed help. These rouges are dangerous and I'm not some weak she-wolf that can't defend herself. There's a reason I came late.

Instincts took over and I knew I had to be freed from whomever was on top of me in order to fight. Swiftly rolling on to my back, the rouge was caught by surprise and stumbled a little but that was all I needed in order to wriggle out of that dangerous position.

Finally being on all my four paws, I launched myself towards the wolf that had kept me captive just seconds ago. He saw me coming and swerved right making me almost crash into a tree before I caught myself and turned baring my teeth at the enemy. Taking a quick look around I noticed there was four rouges, one of them being female. I put my attention back on my opponent and we began circling each other, daring the other to make a move. I knew if I didn't make a move he would and I could use that to my advantage.

Being right, he ran towards me trying to be sneaky by going for my front legs. I jumped over him landing on his back and took a chunk out of his right shoulder. He let out a howl of pain before growling angrily and trying to throw me off but I held my ground. Switching to the other shoulder and taking another huge chunk gained me another howl of agonizing pain. I loosened up my hold the tiniest and he took it to his advantage, turning over. But unlucky for him that was exactly what I planned as he was now laying on his back. I snapped my mouth on his neck tugging until I heard a snap of his neck breaking and his body became limp under me. I got up and got off of him. Not a scratch on me.

A fierce growl had me whip my body towards the other rouges as they all began advancing on me. I can't take them all down. Although I knew I was fighting a losing battle I stood my ground, crouching down ready to attack and faced the rouges, letting out a growl of my own. I would die trying.

Another fierce growl was heard but not in front of me but behind me.
