Some time between me crying and James holding me, I managed to fall asleep. I woke up in a empty room with James nowhere to be seen. Outside the window, the sun was setting and the sky was growing dark. My eyes burned and felt swollen. I hadn't realized I cried so much. Now I felt like a crybaby. What kind of Luna cries like a baby? Some Luna I am.

I got off the bed and headed to the door, on my search to find my mate. I grinned at the thought. My mate. James is my mate and my Alpha. Butterflies swarmed my stomach. I'm an Alpha's mate. I was proud to be called James' mate. He was so good to me. He treated me special, like I had a 'Handle With Caution' sticker attached to me. It did bug me sometimes but most of the time, I liked how he was so gentle.

I opened the door and was met with the smell of someone cooking... roast beef? I peeked my head down the stairs to see if anyone was in the lounge. Empty. I slowly headed down the stairs, listening out to make sure no one was coming. I didn'tknow why I was sneaking around, with a house full of werwolfs no less. I'm a Luna for fuck's sake. I held my head up and walked, with what I hope was confidence, to the kitchen. There I saw the now ex-Luna, Olivia, and two other other girls that I know as Cassandra and Sara. How did I know them? Well let's just say I've known them for years and we're not what you would call friends. They always tagged along with the people that would always attack me. Sara, I know, is the most brutal. But they're both a couple of bitches.

Taking a deep breath, I walked into the kitchen putting on a smile. I don't care what they did, I won't let them get to me. Just ignore them Michelle.

Hi Mrs. Manello, do you need any help?", I asked politely. I wanted to get to know my new mother in law.

"Please, call me Olivia dear", she said with a warm smile.

"We're good thanks", Cassandra said rudely. Her face was distorted in distaste. My smile faltered but I made sure not to let it drop. I won't let them get to me. I won't let them get to me.

"But you could throw out the trash", Sara added with a smirk. I won't let them get to me. I won't let them get to me.

"Sure thing", I said making sure my smile was still on. I'm sure it looked forced but that's exactly what it is. I went to the trashcan and grabbed the trash. All the while making sure I didn't show how pissed I am.

I went out the back door towards the trash bins. I opened the lid and threw the trash inside. "UGH!" It was so typical for them to still treat me like shit. Why did I think things were going to change? I knew they were no longer going to attack me but me being Luna definitely didn't stop them from verbally abusing me.

I was so steamed. I couldn't go back in there like this. I went into the forest, taking a walk. I just need to cool off. And I knew the perfect place to go.

I made it to the lake fourty minutes later I was there. Yes forty minutes that's how long it takes to get to the outskirts of our Northern territory. This place held so many memories. The rogues and me and James. I also went here after getting jumped too.

That's when I heard it. Very faint but I still heard it. It was the sound of ragged breathing. I walked towards still on guard but for some reason I wasn't scared. The breathing sounded painful. I smelled blood as I rounded a tree and saw it. The source of the breathing and the smell came from a guy in a heap of blood.
