MICHELLE
He looked so pale. He looked like death was at his doorstep and it made my heart squeeze painfully. He was currently laying on a white steriled bed in a white sterile room. In the pack house there is two rooms for injured wolfs. I had yet to talk to James and I have to admit I was dreading the conversation. And honestly trying to avoid it as much as possible. From what Dr. Robinson had told me, he suffered a lot of damage to the neck shoulders and legs. He said his wolf should heal him but the damage was very severe that it would take some time. He had a breathing tube that split into two smaller ones that went into his nose slightly. It was connected to an oxygen tank. There was also a heart monitor that kept track of his heart rate which, although slow, was still beating.
I looked up as I heard light tapping on the door. Startled, I stood up and took a few steps away from the bed. The door opened and revealed a small girl with innocent blue eyes and short brown trimmed hair reaching her chin. My shoulders sagged in relief and the air I didn't realize I was holding came out of my lips, Thank god. She looked at me with curiosity shining in her bright blue eyes and I couldn't help but smile at her. She was small and looked at least ten. She wore a bright pink dress and white flats. She returned my smile with a toothy grin, "Luna, the Alpha would like to speak to you"
Without even knowing it, the little girl had struck fear down my spine. I tried so hard to make my face look impassive, to not worry the child but my insides were going nuts. I forced a small tight smile, "Where's the Alpha, sweetie?"
"My name's Gelica", she said nodding her head, her hair bobbing with it. I chuckled, realizing the little girl meant Angelica. "I think he's in his office"
I walked toward Angelica and put my right hand on her head. "Thanks, sweetie", I said as I slipped passed her and headed towards the unknown. All the fibers in my body were begging me not to go but it was that or anger my Alpha. I walked down a hallway and when I reached the lounge, I turned right walking past the kitchen full of women cooking and laughing, unaware of the girl walking by who practically had fear dripping off her.
Past the kitchen was another hallway to the left but was short and only had one door, his office. I hesitated at his door not knowing what I was getting myself into but knowing it's too late to turn back now. I raise my hand to knock on the door, "Come in, Michelle" I once again hesitated, but decided not to keep him waiting. I open the door with shaky fingers and saw James sitting on a plush blue rolling chair in front of a dark brown desk. On the desk were piles of paper and a laptop. There was two chairs in front of the desk and dark blue love seats on the right and left side of the room. The room over all looked warm and calm yet James face was pulled into an expressionless mask. "Sit", He ordered not even bothering to look up as I walked in and sat on one of the chairs in front of his desk.
My fingers were shaking and I clasped them together. I sat there waiting for him to say something but he continued to type on his computer.
Suddenly he stood up and walked around his desk until he was right in front of me. He raised his hand and cupped my cheek. He lifted my face until I was looking into his chocolate brown eyes and that's when I saw how red they were. He looked like he had been crying and there was water pooling in his eyes. I didn't know what to say until he got on his knees and hugged me, mumbling into my shirt how sorry he was. I couldn't blame him though. Obviously I should have known how wolfs are about they're mates. They're protective and if I would have just backed away and let him calm down then none of this would have ever happened.
