~~~Third Person POV~~~
Everyone is now all gathered in the mess hall for dinner. The training has just ended and the cadets are famished. Luckily, Luna has already prepared their food.
Everybody is currently enjoying a nice hot soup and a perfectly cooked schnitzel, everyone except Luna. She said she already had dinner while preparing theirs but actually, she just didn't feel like eating. Although, she still joined the officials on their table as she enjoys her freshly brewed tea.
However, one of the officials wasn't really enjoying his dinner as much as he thinks he should. He can't deny that the food Luna prepared was appetizing, but something in his mind is bothering him.
Levi had spent the entire afternoon training his squad and the rest of the cadets, but he also stole glances on that certain black haired woman who was also guiding the new recruits in their training. He wanted to concentrate on his work but he just couldn't keep his eyes away from her who was focused but gently held the cadets' bodies as she corrected their fighting stance. Something about her holding them, the boys blushing at her touch, her smile towards those brats, and their laugh displeased him.
His aggravation didn't stop there as he also noticed a tall blond man's eyes fixed on her. Seeing her smile at him, and the way Erwin smiles back at her like he never did to anyone before infuriated him even more. Levi finds himself glaring at them and from time to time, he even interrupts their moments. And right now, if looks could kill, Erwin is probably six feet under by now. Levi couldn't help but shoot daggers at Erwin as the blond man gazes at Luna adoringly.
When Luna left their table to go to bed, he felt that something was bothering her. Even though she's her usual ebullient self, he knew it wasn't genuine as it usually is since he noticed she keeps fidgeting her bracelet. He stayed a bit longer to avoid Hange's stupid accusations.
Meanwhile, Luna climbed the stairs near her chamber which led her to a rooftop. She laid out the cloth she brought on the floor and sat on it, leaning backwards as her hands support her. She gazed up at the sky, mesmerized by the shimmering stars and the moon that lights up the surface.
She let out a deep breath that she didn't know she's been holding. "The sky's looking great guys. Makes me wonder, have you four met by now? I really hope so. At least I'll sleep at night knowing that my family is together up there. Hey mom and dad, can you look after those dorks for me? I know they could be such a handful, but I promise they're good boys. Hey guys, can you also give my parents a hug and make them feel my love? Don't worry, they love to cuddle." She sighed once more as she recalls the memories she kept in her heart with the ones she lost. "I miss you guys, I really hope you're still here with me."
The way the stars shined somehow made her feel like she wasn't alone. As she laid down on the floor, ignoring the cold ground, she closed her eyes and appreciated the night breeze. She suddenly remembered her mother's lullaby. She started humming its melody, recalling the words her mother used to sing to her to bed.
Concurrently, Levi retired to his chamber but some part of him wanted to check on Luna. Like it's a natural response, his feet started making its way towards Luna's room. Although, he stopped midway as he heard a woman's voice which he recognized immediately. It was coming from upstairs, and just like now, his feet led him to the rooftop. He could hear her humming a lullaby which seemed to be familiar to him. And the moment she started singing with words, he froze on his feet.
It's been a month since Levi met Hannah and his life became somehow bearable and more meaningful.
Luna and her parents had yet again visited the Underground to give food to the citizen living there. While her parents are busy attending to the people, Luna spends her time with Levi. They just finished learning new fighting styles from Kenny. Feeling tired, the two decided to lay down on a cloth on the floor. The two looked up at the dim ceiling of the subterranean city.
