"Ghoulette of Lust" (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter 5 - A much needed explanation

"So we found you because all the ghouls are currently in heat. Do you know what that is, little ghoulette?" The ghoul asked. He had a serious tone. I could only assume that this was a serious conversation.
"No, I don't"
"Well...You know how babies are made, yeah? Well basically...Heat is when we sort of always want to mate. In other words, make babies. You don't currently go through this since you're so young, heat usually starts when you're about sixteen to eighteen years old. When we're in heat our senses are also slightly heightened. So in this case we could smell that something was...off about you. We only ever have humans in our audience so we could sense that you weren't. Are you with me so far?"

I was stunned. Confused, shook, utterly flabbergasted. The hell was he saying?! What the hell is all this supposed to mean? All the ghouls get horny and then they could SMELL ME?! I had to keep listening. I nodded a bit, still slightly confused.

"So we told Papa that we suspected you were a ghoulette, or at least non-human. We decided to send one of us to watch you and make sure that you don't go feral in public. Since I'm more tame during my heat cycles they sent me to watch you from afar. You have a really bad sixth sense so you didn't seem to notice me at all...Well I followed you until I watched you viciously devour your prey. That made me sure that you're a ghoulette, so now we're here." He kept explaining.

I was still shocked. I've been watched for a day and I never even noticed. Also, he said he was more tame. THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?! Would the rest have ripped me to shreds? Aggressively bit me? Fucked a damn tree? Maybe 'heat' was all something you'd dread? I'm so confused and scared. I had never known of any of this.

Nobody did. Not my family, nor my friends. Not the neighbors, not my teachers. Nobody knew. But now I did.

"Why now?" I asked, desperate for answers.
"Well Ghouls can take on human forms...They're pretty normal and they help us in emergencies. Like if we all have to blend in to look like a normal group, or if people pry for our identities. The only thing is that once we first come to earth they get activated, so we need to remove them. This is to make sure that any humans who walk by during summonings won't get too suspicious. Since you we're most likely an infant when you came here you must have not known of this...Then you just sort of stayed like that. "

I was intrigued. I never would have guessed that ghouls would have such an impressive safety mechanism.

"There's another way too. If a ghouleh gives birth in her human form then the baby will also come out as a human. Some ghoulehs do this simply for the thrills. Some really like the way humans look and others want to feel how it's different. " He sort of just kept rambling on about the possibilities of you staying a human so long.

"The form takes up quite a bit of magic and energy. Since you remained one all your life my only guess is that you mistook any accidental use of magic for simple coincidences. You must have been switching back recently, possibly when sleeping? That's my guess to why you're suddenly awakening."

I suddenly seemed to understand much more. Despite this I was still confused. What did he mean by summonings? How do I know I can trust him?! I've known this man for less then 30 minutes! I hate not having answers so I timidly asked him.

"How do I know I can trust you? I don't even know you. I don't even know the one thing people usually know when addressing others! You know, your name." When spoke I started off sounding pretty nervous and shy, my tone eventually became more assertive and...almost a bit bitchy?

"Well, my name is Omega. No need to tell me yours. I already know most of what I must know of you. Your name is Paradox, though usually people call you Para. You're a thirteen year old ghoulette and you're completely clueless about most relating to the church. That's really all I need to know."
"Normally I'd say that's insulting but in this case it's true." I said looking up at him.
"Anyways, please continue explaining." I was interested in hearing more. I had to know more. More about all of this.

"The clergy. Thats what we call the satanic church you seem to be somewhat familiar with. However you know it as a piece of fiction, used to explain the theme of the church's band. Well, It is not a piece of fiction, it is an actual satanic church. A church of theistic satanism. We all worship the devil. "
"Why are you hiding this..?" I asked meekly.
"We didn't earlier. During the first few years of the band. But eventually people started to harass us because of the satanic themes. Since we wanted to assure the safety of our members we lied and said that it was all fiction, hoping that believers would see through our facade. Remember, little ghoulette, lying is alright if it benefits you."

I wasn't really too surprised. Sure, this was a big reveal, but I had also just gotten revealed to me that I'm a ghoulette.
It sort of made this reveal a lot less shocking. There was still one thing I wondered of though...

"So...What's going to happen with me?" I asked, looking Omega in the eyes, he looked back at me and replied in a calm voice.
"We're going to need to take you to the church. It's dangerous having a rouge, juvenile ghoul loose. You'll get a nice room, the rest of the ghouls, the sisters, papa and I will take care of you. It's going to work out. Since you're just a little ghoulette you'll be trained to use an instrument, you'll also get some chores to do too." The ghoul explained.

I was happy to be meeting new people. But I was also worried. I still have family and friends here!
"Okay so, when will I go with you, how far away is this church, does it have multiple locations, will I get to collect my things and will I get to say bye to my family?" I said quickly. I was a bit worried that he hadn't understood everything I said, my voice was shaky when I spoke after all.
He luckily seemed to have understood me as he soon began answering.

"We're going to leave this night. The sooner the better. The church is still in Sweden, it's just in the middle of a forest that's mainly abandoned, nothing but woods and animals for miles. However there is wi-fi and a cell tower pretty close, so you can still call and message old friends and family. There are multiple churches. One is in Sweden, one in Germany, one is in Italy. There are more that I can't recall, but most are in Europe.
Before we leave you will get to collect some of your things, however you do not need to bring furniture as there is already furniture. You can explain to your family about your situation this evening, or even right when we go back. I'll be coming with you to help carry your things."

"Thank you, Omega. You have answered all my questions."

"No worries. Let's head back now, shall we?" He said while lifting me off the ground, dirt on my jeans. I didn't really care though.
