We've fallen into a comfortable routine as the week's pass,

It's been over a full month since I haven't been hurt by my parents,

Though they may not be near, their ghosts continue to haunt me like no other, they lurk in the dark making it unbearable to sleep as nightmares of what I'd gone through attack me each night.

H/n is my best friend...I'm not sure if he thinks I'm his, but he's mine, he's everything and more to me, he saved me when I thought it was to late to even have hope,

He spent every night talking me through my panic attacks, helping me apply the ointments on my bruises, and being there for me after a nightmare,

And he doesn't judge me in the slightest bit, he doesn't get angered if I flinch at him, even if I and he know he won't hurt or touch me,

He didn't yell when I broke a cup, nor did he hit me when I didn't understand something he was talking about,

He's patient and sweet to me.

"You okay?" He asks sitting next to me

I see a folder in his hand and immediately know what it is,

Each time he got me to try new foods we'd sometimes fall into the topic of my parents,

And ultimately I've decided to try fighting in court, though I'm scared he's assured me that his friends are finding evidence as we spoke,

"Yeah...I think so" I whisper

He nods and places the folder in my lap, allowing me as much time as I need until I open it,

I slowly pick it up after a few minutes and open it, seeing all kinds of papers with different kinds of charges, photos, and even a USB,

"That sweetheart, is the evidence of them hurting you at an event, it was captured by a camera, there's sound as well so you can hear them threatening you, there plans of what they'd do to you at home" he answers quietly as he points to the USB

I launch into his arms, hugging him tightly, this...this is the evidence that might just set me free from them officially.

"Thank you" I Whisper feeling his warm big hands holding me close

"Anything for you" I swear I hear him whisper
