Chapter Thirty: Hush [1]

It was already the last day for them to learn the appointed magic given to them and was need to be performed by tomorrow.

Everyone of the student from Class A was all occupied in their own room, while other students was worry-free. It was seem that they were the only one Marvin gave a task such as 'owning one's magic' or so he likes to call it.

"Think of it as a light or fire attribute or what you guys call in fantasy Action games, was it?" Agapius said as he watch Luna still trying to get the spark of light alot bigger. It was already the size of a jackstone, but the bigger it is the more likely powerful it gets.

The ball of light which radiates a golden hue, and has the same appearance of a sun. Golden wave of fire— it was the given name of the magic assigned to Luna. Just like the sun, there are bits of waves rising from the edges, sparking.

It is said to be an ancient magic, which was probably why Luna had trouble making it happen. The ability also consume too much mana from her body which practically exhaust her and make her feel nauseous after.

She could barely hold it for 5 to 7 seconds. Although, this time Luna miraculously survived till 10 seconds, it was quite an achievement for her. To think she would be able to last that long, but it was still far too quick.

The presentation was said to last till 30 to 69 seconds. She only had today left, Luna couldn't help but think she wouldn't make it pass 30 seconds. Her body will surely give up on her.

No. There has to be a way to make it more doable and manageable. A technique that would make this magic to only consume a bit of mana but still would be in complete form.

"I guess I have to go to the library."

Buzzing sounds of students and their chattering was already heard way till the stairs. There seem to be some sort of commotion within the library.

Luna saw a swarm of students in front of the library, squirming as those who were at the back tiptoeing as they tilt their head upward.

A sudden nudge caught her attention, it was Rei. Unlike her usual self, she seem to have put extra effort for today. Leaving Luna to be more baffled than already is.

"You're all dress up, perhaps you're meeting someone?" Luna assumed teasingly, but she was surprised by how Rei react.

The maiden blushed, feeling shy from Luna's question. This just affirmed that Rei really is meeting someone. A date. It was what came across Luna's mind, given the fact that her friend was wearing a light make up and was quite dress nicely, adding her suddenly timid behavior all points out that she has a date to attend to.

"By the way, what's with them?" Rei said apparently changing the topic.

"I'm not sure either, is there a celebrity on the loose?"

The two only watch the warm of students in front.

"Yo,"

Luna and Rei turn their head slightly back to see Remus and Shiki together.

"Ah! You're supposed to be still in bed!" Rei cried, grabbing Remus' shoulders.

Remus couldn't help but click his tongue and aggressively push Rei back almost making her fall back, luckily Luna was able to support her from stumbling.

The red haired maiden became bewildered by Remus' sudden action. But eventually shrugged it off, for he had always been like that at times.

"I'm perfectly fine, there's no need for your concern..." He trailed off as he notice Rei's appearance. Remus couldn't help but make a face. "The hell? What are you? Going on some sort of date?"

Remus may have said that to get an annoyed reaction from Rei but to his surprise she unexpectedly hiccup as her face turns red. He who was left confounded look at Luna and Shiki who said nothing but shrugged.

"...What? Really?"

"I...is it really that weird?"

"Uh, well, no...just shocking. I mean, I just never imagine someone sane enough to date you— urf!!"

With that statement, Rei couldn't help but feel annoyed as she stomp her heels at Remus' feet, making him cry in pain holding his left foot. "What was that for?!"

But Rei was already Stomping her feet away from the three.

The two; Shiki and Luna looked at him oozing  with displeasure. "S... seriously?" He said dejected and irritated.

"What are you guys doing here, by the way?" Luna asked Shiki, completely ignoring the raging Remus behind them.

Shiki glance down at Luna then to the swarm of people in front, "I was thinking of finding Rei, since I heard Liam talking that she's going on a date with someone. I didn't think it was true, but... I guess it is." He answered, he seem to be worried for his little sister.

Luna completely understand Shiki. Most brother would also worry for their little sister, wouldn't they? Luna remember how she warn Eva for nth time when she dated her second ex-boyfriend.  As the older brother, she wanted to see her sister happy and well in a relationship, not in pain nor crying over some shit cheating jerk.

"...I'll just probably get a settlement money if the guy were to get injured."

There was quite a long pause between the two, not a minute later, Luna glance at Shiki agape by what she just heard and processed.

Luna couldn't believe what she just heard, here she thought that he was feeling some sort of concern towards his little sister, well he is in fact, but for a different matter.

"What the... Seriously?" She couldn't help but react.

Without taking his eyes on to the phone he took out earlier, he casually and calmly replied;

"When she and Austin went out for a date, that guy would always get her home with an injury or bruise and Rei would just be looking with remorse and awkwardly get out of his car."

Ah...

Remus all of a sudden sneak up into Shiki's side, oozing out some sort of dark smoke.

"...py." he muttered, which took Shiki's attention "Let's spy on her!" He out of the blue suggested.

Shiki only gave his usual stare, and Luna only gave him the look of displeasure.

But shockingly, the two just suddenly aggressively shook hands together. They then turn to Luna asking whether she would like to join them, although, unfortunately she was quite busy for her assignment is still incomplete. She cannot bare to be distracted.

Once the two took off, following rei, Luna eventually continued towards the library, squeezing herself from the crowd. But halted when she sense something off, however it was already too late, for she was now in front, being push forward by the people.

Luna couldn't help but shudder once she saw what caused the commotion around this area. She felt chills all over her body, cold sweat building.

"Ms. Vermillion, good to see you again. You're just in time."

Those bloody red eyes and cold penetrating voice made Luna frown. What's Zachary doing here?

With the sudden greeting it made eyes bulging out of their socket as she sweat cold, despite not seeing his expression, Luna could tell he was smirking. The words that went out from his mouth made Luna derail, shock and discomfort. It gave her a huge wave of shudder;

"You're quite a fascinating mage, but still I wonder why my brother— no, why Dion is obsessed with a mere puppet like you?"
