HAILEY CLAIRE HEART was sitting at her table in lunch reading, waiting for her twin brother. hailey was a quiet, closed, and self absorbed, in a good way of course. She didnt have any friends, many people considered her a dork, loser, and they said a lot more things that hurt hailey, but as much as they hurt her, she dealt with them. And when someone did want to be her friend, they wanted to be her friend to get with her twin brother, hayden. Her brother was the popular one at school, everyone loved him, but he always protected his little twin sister, no matter what. He was her only friend, the only person who cared for her. They both love eachother so much. They have two moms, their parents divorced after her mother came out as lesbian, but their dad understood and is still in contact with them. And there comes hayden.

"hey stink" hayden says ruffling her hair

"will you stop with the hair? its getting annoying" she says with a small smile

"its a tradition! ive been doing it since we were 8, im never stopping, take my word on that" he says sitting down in front of her "anyone mess with you today?"

"surprisingly, no, everyones been super calm today, did you do something?" she asks as she puts her book away

"no...maybe, yes" he says looking down

"hey, i love you and all, but you have to stop protecting me. Im fine" she says

"no you arent, yesterday a certain someone named hailey was crying in my room" he says tilting his head

"okay maybe they get to me, but im used to it by now, honestly, its fine" she says "hey why'd you get here so late? we have class in like 5 minutes"

"well i was with maya-" he starts

"bye, love you!" she says leaving the cafeteria, not wanting to hear what they were doing

her last class was her favorite class, creative writing. hailey loved creative writing, she could literally just express what was on her mind onto a google doc and turn it into a story. Plus, the teacher was her biological mom, kayla, so that was a bonus. Kayla didnt treat her any differently from her other students, but she never yelled at hailey.

"hey mom" hailey says as she enters the class

"hey honey, whats up? youre early" she asks, hugging her daughter

"i just thought id spend some time with you" hailey says with a shrug

"im not giving you your grade yet." her mom says sternly

"mom! come on!" hailey begs

"no! you have to wait like everyone else" kayla says, avoiding eye contact with hailey

"but im not everyone else, im your kid, the one who doesnt stay out until four in the morning like hayden. Arent you happy about that?" hailey asks in a nice tone

"what id like is for you to go out with your brother to parties more" her mom says looking at her

"ouch. Mom i dont get invited to those parties, i dont have friends" hailey rants

hailey could tell her moms everything, she wasnt scared to. They understood her

"im sorry, i know its a sensitive subject but its the truth" her mom says as everyone else enters the class

"wow, thanks for the advice mom!" hailey says in a sarcastic tone, taking a seat

the tables were for 3, so there were two vertical tables facing eachother and one in the front

example:

table 1 table 2

       table 3

"okay class! we have new seating arrangements. So stand up and get against the wall" kayla says

"what? why?" hailey asks as she grabs her things and stands up and gets against the wall as everyone else does

"because i paired people with the wrong people and all i hear is talking everyday." her mom says grabbing a paper, "okay so, hailey, alice, matt you go here" her mom says tapping a table

hailey held her complaints in and just sat down (she sat down on table 3), matt and alice following behind her. hailey didnt like alice, she had a horrible personality but good looks so everyone wanted to be with her or be her. But of course, she was stuck on chris. Matts triplet brother. hailey didnt really have an opinion on matt, from what she had seen he was as quiet as she was, but he also talked a lot. She knew he had siblings and he had a youtube channel with his triplet brothers, but thats all she knew. She hadnt been dying to talk to him, she barely even watched them. But, of course, him and his brothers were also popular like her brother, and hayden had talked to them sometimes but not everyday, they werent friends. Matt sat down at table 1 and alice at table 2. Her mom told everyone else where to sit down. They had to write a fiction story. hailey got her computer and just started typing the narratives, the plot, and the character. And in a second google doc, she started writing the story. She could feel matt looking at her from time to time but she ignored it, it didnt mean anything. Its not like he would want to be friends with her. Alice kept asking annoying questions like

"where is chris?"

or

"is chris still single?"

or

"do you think you could ask chris if he likes me?"

matt just ignored her and kept writing, hailey had major respect for that. How could someone ignore such an irritating, annoying voice. Alice kept blabbing and blabbing until hailey couldnt take it anymore

"oh my god alice, will you please stop talking and focus? matt obviously doesnt give a shit about your feelings for chris" hailey blurts out

"thank you" matt says throwing his head back

"but what if ch-" alice starts

"no one cares!" matt blurts out

"fine" alice says, going on her computer.

hailey chuckles softly, almost no one hearing her. When theres still ten minute to the class, kayla stands up

"okay class, im gonna give you your grades for the last assignment now" her mom says grabbing the papers

"finally" hailey mutters, putting her things away

her mom hands out the grades, hailey got a 98 which she was pretty proud for. One bad part about having your mom as a teacher is that you cant hide your grades from them because they grade you. But hailey didnt have a problem with that, she mostly got good grades anyways.

The class ended, hailey stayed in her moms classroom on her phone and waited for hayden to get there and wait for their mom to get off of work.
