"WAKE UP MOTHERFUCK-" nick starts yelling as he opens matts door "what the fuck" he mumbles
he runs down the stairs to get chris who was in the kitchen
"youre gonna wanna see this" nick says with a small grin
they run up the stairs again and peek into matts room
"what in the reeses peanut butter fucks is going on" chris says quietly
"should we wake them?" nick asks, looking at his younger triplet brother
"nah, matt hasnt slept well in weeks and he looks peaceful. Lets just let them wake up naturally" chris says walking away
nick closes the door and leaves with his brother

~TIME SKIP~
Hailey woke up, matt was next to her on his phone. She checked the time, 12 pm. She sat up and rubbed her eyes
"morning" he says, putting his phone down
"morning" she mumbles "how long have you been awake?"
"since eleven thirty, i thought id let you sleep a little more" he says with a small shrug
"thank you, im going downstairs" she says, grabbing her phone and walking downstairs
matt followed after her, when they got downstairs, they saw nick and chris sitting on the couch with their arms crossed
"uhhh, what the actual fuck" hailey says with a small chuckle
"explain right now, both of you" nick says strictly
"explain what? we literally just woke up" matt says, confusion written on both of their faces
"exactly, you said we, meaning you two were together." chris says
"so? she slept in my room because a boy named chris was annoying the shit out of her and we had to go see hayden at the hospital at like three in the morning, thats all" matt says, putting his hands up in defense
"cuddling, you two were cuddling" chris says, kind of aggressively
"fuck no we werent" hailey says, trying to avoid the subject
"yeah, okay. So you dont call matt having his fucking arm wrapped around your waist like really really tight cuddling?" nick asks, annoyed by their lying
"no!" hailey protests
bro i could do that shit right now and it wouldnt be cuddling. Look" he says, wrapping his arm around hailey waist "see? you two are so fucking stupid" he says, pulling his arm away
"so you two arent dating?" nick asks, his eyebrows raised slightly
"no, not at all" hailey says
"thank fucking god" chris says, throwing his head back
"would it be so bad if we did?" hailey asks, not knowing why chris would say that
matt bumps his brothers arm with his elbow
"no no it- well yeah because the entire friend group would fall apart if you two broke up so it would be awkward and youre like one of our best friends and it'd be hard to be without you" chris rants
"oh..yeah okay" she says, sitting down next to nick
she got kind of frustrated by chris' answer, but she didnt exactly know why. She was questioning her feelings for matt, did she want to be just friends with him or did she want to be more? she didnt know. Nick could see the frustration in her eyes as she looked at her phone. An awkward silence filled the air, which normally never happened. They were always talking or yelling, or the silence was comfortable, there was never any tension. But this time, it was different. Nick thought that the fact of his best friend liking his brother was absurd, she couldnt like him, he knew it wasnt gonna work out, he knows exactly the reason why, he knows the problem, he just cant tell her.
"uhm, im gonna go now" she says, grabbing her shoes that were at the front door and sitting on the floor to put them on
"oh, ill drive you" matt says getting up
"no its okay, i can walk" she says, a soft smile on her face
"but your house is like 9 blocks away, it'll take fucking eternity to get there" matt says, stopping in his tracks
"its okay, really. I just need some alone time right now, plus my moms are gonna pick me up there any second. Its fine" she rants, getting up
"okay, well call if anything happens" nick says, hugging her
"i will, bye guys" she says, walking out the house and closing the door softly
the brothers are in silence for a good 2 minutes before matt starts yelling
"great fucking move chris!" he yells at his younger brother
"shes gonna have to find out eventually you asshole!" chris yells back
"both of you stop yelling right now!" nick yells at them "i was not involved in this whatsoever, whenever you tell her, you will tell her that it was not my idea and that i still want to be friends with her. You two are so screwed right now and its your problem, dont even try to get advice out of me because i am done with both of your guys' shit." nick says, walking to his room and slamming the door
matt and chris repeat nicks actions.
Hailey walked to her house frustrated, she liked matt, she had just figured that out. But it didnt seem as if her friends were gonna support her decision. She was trying to brush it off, but she couldnt. As soon as she got home, she just started crying. She had lied, her moms were at the hospital with hayden helping him regain his strength, they werent picking hailey up, hailey was alone, she was home alone. She needed to talk to someone desperately, but who?, she couldnt call either of the triplets since it was awkward, she knew madi and alahna were out right now and their phones were turned off, haydens phone was destroyed, and she didnt want to call her moms and worry them. She had to go through the pain all alone, no one was there for her, and thats what hurt her even more. She went up to her room and put her headphones on and listened to music, music was her escape from reality, she loved it, it saved her when she was young, and it still does. She feel asleep after 30 minutes.
