I like your ears

3rd person POV

mina didnt want to go against enid, she loved the poe cup, she loved winning and she loved everything about it but she didn't want to go against enid. nothing would change between them , it was just a fun harmless activity but mina couldn't help but wonder about what would change between them

"mina get out of her head, out of your room and out here now!" bianca called and mina walked out wearing the outfit and she heard divina let out a wolf whistle making her laugh and do a spin

"I seriously don't know how enid has asked you out yet, you're gorgeous mina I mean it" Bianca stated and Mina smiled at the girl

"she doesn't like me like that, we've had this talk before" Mina exclaimed and bianca scoffed

"what have I said before?" bianca asked and mina fiddled with her thumbs before she sighed and she looked back up at the girl

" I wont know unless I try" Mina replied and bianca nodded

"and have you tried?" she asked and mina shook her head as she looked at her thumbs and sighed

"can we just go do this thing? i don't want to be late" Mina said and Bianca scoffed

"we'll continue this talk later" Bianca stated and mina nodded as they left the room and they walked down to the docks. Mina looked to see enid and Wednesday together and enid turned to mina and smiled widely. she blushed at the sight of the girl and mina smiled at her

"mina focus come on" bianca said and mina sighed as she nodded and turned to bianca, she climbed into the boat with the others and she felt someone poke her leg as she looked up and saw divina smile at her as she smiled back softly. then she looked over at enid who was already looking at her and she waved with a smile

"focus" bianca said and mina groaned before bianca looked at Wednesday and spoke up

"what do we have here? the runt of the litter" bianca said and mina groaned. she loved bianca but god could she be cruel

"for the record,  I don't believe that I'm better then everyone else, just that I'm better then you" Wednesday said and mina looked at enid and they shared a look. clearly the two girls in front of them knew something that the other didn't and they felt left out. thats why mina and enid worked so well together. they knew exactly what the other was thinking.

"I want to welcome you all to the edgar allan poe cup. this is one of nevermores proudest annual traditions, stating back 125 years. each team must row across to raven island, pull a flag from crackstones crypt and hustle back without sinking or being sunk. first team to cross the finish line with their flag wins the cup and bragging rights for a year as well as some special privileges. let the poe cup begin" ms.weems said and she shot off the gun as they all began to row. mina watched biancas movements and she did the opposite of them as she smiled and they went faster.

they rowed before mina saw bianca nod and she turned to see kent on the dock waiting. he nodded and he removed his pants and his shirt as he jumped in the water and mina had to remind herself, no rules. no matter how much that it annoyed her to hurt enid and the fact that she had to do it annoyed her.

"mina get our head in the game" divina said and mina shook her head and nodded as she continued to row. she watched as the other team threw an axe at enids team and she took a breathe in but she let it out when she saw the girl come back up and row away from them fastly. Mina saw kent in the water and she shook her head to get the thoughts away of whatever he was going to do or cause, that was until she saw that boat begin to get pushed into the buoy and she sighed as their boat broke and bianca laughed with divina. Kent went back under water as they kept rowing.

they were doing good and well but all of a sudden, kent was gone and there was not sight of him at all. Mina was worried, he was practically her child and she would protect him with her life if she could but now she couldn't see or find him and she was scared

"b, I don't see him, he's gone" mina stated and bianca looked at her

"it'll be fine. now when we get to land, stay here and guard the boat, make sure nothing happens when me and div are gone" bianca said and mina nodded as they got to land and she sat in the boat still

"mina" she heard and she looked over to see enid and she smiled and then she noticed the claw marks in xaviers boat and she sighed with a smile on her face

"nice trademark" Mina pointed out and enid sighed

"I really want to win" enid retorted and mina shrugged with a smile on her face. she knew that enid would feel guilty about it and she didn't want her too

"I saw that axe earlier, are you alright?" she asked and enid nodded with a smile

"worried about me?" enid questioned and mina nodded with a half smile and a shrug

"always" she said and then she heard footsteps coming towards her and she turned to see divina and bianca with the flag and she smiled before she looked at enid and sighed

"all is far in love & war?" mina said and enid nodded

"always" enid said and they pushed off the land together as they began to row back to the school. when they got back as far as they did, they were neck and neck with the jokers until they weren't. mina smiled at the thought of them failing all due to the girl she loved. they got neck and neck with the black cats and thats when kent pushed them and mina watched. she couldn't watch and she didn't but then she felt their boat being impaled and she smiled even though they lost.

she was proud of the sinclair girl. she watched as they ran forward and they jumped together. she smiled happily at the sight. then they were brought into the quad, enid smiled at mina and she smiled back.

"the first poe cup took place in 1897, as a way to not only honor nevermores most famous alumni, but to celebrate those values that all outcasts share. community, perseverance and determination and we certainly saw those values on display today. congratulations to ophelia hall!! as a former resident, I will be happy to see the cup back on the mantle after all these years" ms.weems said and mina smiled for the girl

she was happy and it hadn't ruined anything but nothing could ruin enid and mina. nothing.
