Chapter 12: The visit

2nd pov,

You flipped the book page quietly reading down the words on the white paper sheet, the surface was hard yet clean and fresh. The weather outside the city was cloudy which was not the greatest day but that doesn't mean it ruined your relaxation moment.

You flip the page again, reading each of the symbols, and put your index finger on the word line. Ever since Monkey King gave you the book you couldn't help but read it, mostly it was more about the legend of Xiang zing

Your focus on the second page again and stopped once you saw the Warriors, the image was drawn by an unknown it has a weird art style but you won't judge them

The warriors mostly theme with animals, they were 12 animals. Full armor and fur. However, your eye landed on the Snake warrior who seems to show two people in the art one is the original warrior and one is his successor.

Glancing again next to the page seeing the weapons and stuff. Lots of unknown symbols that you have no idea to read, the journal is mostly talking about the bios but not too much of the details since half of the book is white empty, and ripped apart

Later you flip again, seeing the celestial language and planning to translate is later

The more you read, the more you are curious. Something tells you that in the past you did something upset or maybe some tragic things, thinking if the past you have faced those strong demons.

Is that me? Is it true I was the reincarnation? How did I look? How's my personality? Bad? Good? Or am I did do something horrible until I died and get retribution?

You observe it more, but you aren't sure about the idea as the second former warrior, probably you're a reincarnation. You already figured that out, the answer sure has already in your hand.

You flip the page again, curiosity has further your mind as your finger land on the black dry ink it shows the familiar alphabet. You took a picture of it and immediately search to get information

An image appears on the screen, showing the exact alphabet you want for the "Celestial alphabet" you muttered, its noting different compared with the normal human alphabet except they were more circles stuff

"Wow, didn't know you were that busy" a sudden voice appeared behind your ear making you flinch in surprise and quickly looked at the person. His armor shines just like always, giving you pain in the eyeballs.

"Wukong! You scared me" you put your palms on your chest, and pretend to have a heart attack.

He laughed at the priceless reaction you express and sat next to the empty chair beside you "Sorry didn't mean to" he said. You smiled a little before concentrating back on the book "Do you need anything?" You asked, curious at his sudden appearance. He mostly came in his bird form to give any information about the warrior you requested or some message.

He lean his elbow against the sliding window and shrugged, hopped into your room without any hesitation "No, just wanted to visit you out, probably I could help" he calmly answer, stopping his gaze into the fluffy bed of yours before hopping into it and rolled across it "You have a nice bed" he muffled under the pillow. you ignore the noises instead continuing to read the pages

"Uh wukong" you bring your eyes towards the monkey who seems out from the world, he peeked and raised his eyebrows "yeah?"

you rub your cheeks avoiding eye contact with the sage "Can I ask you a question?" you awkwardly smiled which Wukong hummed silently "go ahead" you blinked as you took your full-page notebook from the shelf and clicked the pen "Am I uh- related into this uh the zodiac warrior family?" you pointed the first pages as he squirted his golden eyes towards the journal. However, he grin awkwardly as he scratch the back of his neck "You know the journal only allowed zodiac warrior to see them right?" you blinked again

"you don't see anything on it?" you confusedly flip the pages to make sure it was right there "Nope, sorry dude" he flopped into the pillow once you back towards the paper "answering your question... will need a lot of explanation," he said "I'm not sure about that but possibly you indeed have a connection with the warriors before they uh- well something happens. But you're not the first, you're the second snake warrior" he continued

"But who even is this guy? he's a zodiac snake too! except he's indeed a snake" you narrow slightly, tilting your head and watching him glance at the journal "As I said, you're the second after him. He's the one who was the original snake warrior, he's your master before replaced you to took his place" he said, getting up from the bed

"My master? why did he take me as his replacement?" you asked "Honestly, I don't know. The past you never actually explain why" he shrugged

"But what I know is, zodiac warrior, is extremely rare to meet a long time ago except you, of course, roaming around the places..."

you nodded slowly, sliding your chair to the table, and shut the journal again "right, thanks wukong" he smiled "No problem peaches" you laughed at the nickname he gave "Really, Peaches?"

"uh huh, I think the nickname was neat because you know? Peaches are life and I like peaches" he joked

you finally get up from the chair after feeling your butt getting cramped, stretching your arm behind and yawning softly. Wukong mimic the yawn before waked towards the sliding door "That was a nice visit but I should go now. Happy to help" he summoned his cloud and step into it "Alright, see you around my king" you grinned when he caught off guard with the name "sure thing, peaches"

he zoomed off as you watch the sage fly into the sky, quietly you sigh before entering your apartment once again and deciding to have dinner after researching for a lot of hours.

"How amusing" an unknown voice muttered silently behind the shadow, didn't brake the gaze where you has just left.
