Chapter 5

Kian's POV

Mel vanished. The FBI pounded on our door again.

"Open up or we'll force our way in!" someone yelled

I walked over to the door. I opened it. Their guns were trained on me.

"Where is she?" a cop asked

"Who?" I asked

"Melissa Evers." the cop said

"She isn't here. I haven't seen her for a while." I said

They lowered their guns and the helicopter flew away.

"May we come in?" the cop asked

"Sure." I said

3 officers came in. I closed the door behind them.

"Why are you looking for her?" I asked

"She is charged with killing her brother and injuring another kid and having murderous tendencies." a cop said "I'm officer John."

"She doesn't have murderous tendencies! She didn't kill her brother! A bomb did that!" I said

"There was a bomb planted at the scene of the crime. It was activated. It just happened to be activated when she walked in. It was detonated from 50 feet away." another cop said

"You didn't tell the FBI? Ethan, you are in trouble." John said

"How long have you been looking for her?"I asked

"Eight months today." John said

Eight months ago today Melissa had her accident. They've been looking for her since her accident.

"Have you seen her anywhere?" John asked

"I haven't seen her in 5 months." I lied

Melissa's POV

"Welcome home darling." grandma said

"I'm not here for the reason you think." I said

"Why did you come?" grandma asked

"The police in America are looking for me." I said

"Since your powers developed."

We sat on the couch together.

"Does he know?" grandma asked

"Who?" I asked

"Kian."

"Yes. He has been keeping my secret. "

"How is Trevor?"

"He is fine. He's happy actually."

"Good. You and him have always been my favorites."

"How long do I stay?"

"Till tomorrow."

I needed to see Kian. I focused.

Kian's POV

"What are you gonna do when you find her?" I asked

Ethan and the other cop walked out and drove away.

"We just want to ask her some questions. We believe she is a threat to you." John said

There was a knock at the door. I ran to the door. I opened it. Melissa was standing there. She jumped into my arms. John closed the door behind us.

"I was getting worried about you." I said

"Is this Melissa Evers?" John asked

"Yes." I said

"I'm John. I just want to ask a few questions." John said

Melissa's POV

We sat on the couch.

"Melissa, please answer these questions honestly." John said

I nodded.

"Did you and your brother ever despise each other?" John asked

"No. Tom and I were closer than ever. We became even closer when my mom died." I said

"Did you ever want to injure Max?"

"Again no. We were pretty close until we broke up when I moved to NC."

"We will be watching you closer than ever. If you stay out of our watch, stay out the media. Be careful what you do." John warned

Then I recognized him.

"I care about you Mel and I don't need you getting hurt again." John said

I started breathing heavily.I recognized him. He looked a lot like mom.

"Mel are you cheating on me?" Kian asked harshly

"John." I said, covering my mouth with my hand

"What is going on?" Kian asked harsher

"She's not cheating on you." John said

I fell to my knees.

"You're okay." I whispered

John picked me up off the floor and held me in his arms.

"You look so different." I said

"6 years can change a person." John said

"Mel, tell me who he is and how you know him. Right now." Kian said

"I thought I told you to stay away from the controlling ones." John said

"Kian is not controlling just concerned." I said
