words were to be spoken, letters were to be written—and emotions were to be felt. suchlike the sky, it would have been strange if a sky had no stars, nor a moon in its embrace. if so, it would be quiet. only a void of nothing. seo yul had felt just as empty and quiet when moon hye had broken herself away, his half remaining alone. alongside all the connected bridges and moons embraced by their stars, seo yul would have to suppress and mask everything.
like this. he could do nothing. he could only watch.
" jang uk, die! " go won ran harshly at the jang child, with intention to thrust his blade deep within his stomach to inflict pain. as uk failed to wrap his fingers around his sword, a sheathed one blocked the attack. " please, your highness. do not waste your energy on him. stop this, "
he glared at the moon child, although trudged back. a sigh pushed itself from her lips, rotating herself on the balls of her feet to have the sword within her fingers.
" hye—don't touch it, " the seo boy trudged forward, although, hye had step away, fright touching upon her features. " step away. this sword—my energy . . . it's all surging to it. " she felt most of her energy roughly flooding from her body, all for one destination—the sword. a gasp pushed put from her wet lips, her feet thrusting forward harshly, the blade glowing a furious shade of blue. having her wrist thrusted in between her fingers, she pushed the blade from her clutches, directing a frightened glance at her fingertips afterwards.
" are you alright? "
quickly thrusting himself at her side was seo yul, letting the moon child use her fingers to fist his blue and pink hanbok. he felt such emotion cramping within his stomach, yet he did not know what this was. perhaps, perhaps, perhaps—his mind went through. " hey, moon hye, answer me, "
" i—i'm alright . . . "
none but their own breathing tickled their senses, for they were lost in each other's embrace once more. " . . . i can prove it to you by drinking this whole pot of dirty water! "
blinking out of each other's ocean eyes, they shifted their pupils to the mu girl, pushing such words from her mouth. the pair trudged to them, " me too, because i did not stop uk from attacking you. " she cut in, pausing the flourish of the two house maids, having the pot in her clutches.
" you guys are disgusting . . . it's alright. just take it away. "
———
moon hye returned to songrim, with no emotions etched at her face—all because of one reason—or perhaps, person. jin mu and moon wu had grins of facade painted upon their faces, their eyes all etched with hatred.
" my darling niece, how great it is to finally see you again— "
a gruesome frown erupted from her face, cloaking her eyes with great disgust, " like you didn't try to kill me yesterday? and like you didn't train me for all those years i've been missing? "
the training centre of songrim enveloped itself with whispers and chatters, more so, park jin and most were utterly confused. a wicked cackle pushed from moon wu's and jin mu's mouthes, although as they had come to understand what the brunette said, gruesome expressions touched their features, " what are you saying, i haven't seen you for years since— "
" since you killed my parents? my family? me? " moon hye puffed a breath, shrill tears riding down her cheeks. seo yul stilled.
a sword sat upon her left shoulder, threatening to thrust itself within her neck. inhaling sharply, she forced herself to listen as the seo boy had then spoken, " then that night . . . the fire, the blood . . . it was all you? uncle? " as the man was indeed furious, moon hye pushed the blade from her shoulder, tugging out her own, pointing at the elder's neck harshly.
" h—hey! you cannot threaten to kill your own people—!" scrunching her face with disbelief touching her features, tears began to tickle her eyes, prying to push themselves out. she held them in, " says the one who killed my family! and whom threatened me with his own blade. " anger laced her voice and she held her sword tighter. shrill tears of both anger and sorrow had then trickled upon her soft cheeks, " why!? "
before she could register that she had her guard down, a blade thrusted through her purple hanbok, and within her stomach. gasps would be heard and as moon hye sagged above the floor, seo yul thrusted himself at her side, cradling her head upon his lap, his other hand pressing against her stomach as it spilled with crimson, pooling beneath her. " hye . . . hey! don't—hye, i—wake up! don't—stop—open your eyes—hey! "
dropping tears upon her cheeks, seo yul's sobs fanned the tip of nose. although his eyes could only see the crimson dabbed at her hand, her cheeks becoming wet not only by her own but the seo's warm tears as well. as hot, furious tears spilled from his eyes, he suppressed his anger over the elder moon. he had to. seo yul cloaked her figure within his embrace, clamping a hand over her own, he refused to leave her when heo yeom came to take the girl to sejukwon.
park dang — gu sighed, " uk and mu — deok left earlier, they duel the crown prince, and then this happens. hye will be alright. master heo said the stab wasn't too deep, " he pressed his palm at the seo's back softly, before he told him to look. " hey, look. i think hye's awake—hey! wait for me, yul-ah! "
the park tutted, " aish, he really loves her. hehe, "
