Chapter 1.

"stop it daughter! You are being naive-"

You had a big fight. That's the last memory of them.

"You are a disappointment, you hear me!"

The last words your father said to you before leaving.

"You bring shame to this family!"

Those were your mother's last words before following him.

These words always replay in your head.

Disappointment. Shame.

Always.

You slightly groaned as you looked at the water in front of you. Even though you were little, you still remembered every word. You hated remembering that night. But it never seemed to leave you alone. It was a horrible memory that just won't disappear.

"Hey!" You heard a familiar and soft voice call for you.

Turning around you met the eyes of your sister, Tsireya. She was walking towards you with a smile on her face.

"Mother is calling," she said as she took a deep breath, looks like she was running "it's time to eat"

You nodded and stood up from the rock you were sitting on previously. You smile at her as you grab her hand and start running towards your family's hut.

"No," Tsireya complained, "I'm too tired to run!"

"Well whose problem is that?" you say looking at her with a smirk - but still slowing down.

She just pulled her hand away from your grip and stuck out her tongue.

You and Tsireya had been friends since the both of you were still kids. Even though you are older than her, you two share a very strong bond.

Making your way to the family's hut in comfortable silence, you couldn't help but admire the beauty of the Awa'atlu island. Even though you lived here most of your life you can never get used to it.

Greeting some Na'vi people, you two arrive at your family's hut.

"Finally, we waited for ages" a voice called as soon as you two walked in.

Tonowari, Ronal and Ao'nung were sitting in what looked like was supposed to be a circle already eating.

"Oh stop being a baby Ao'nung" you touted, walking up behind him, and pushing his head a bit forward. He chuckled as you sat beside him and Tsireya sat on your left.

You grabbed some fish that was ready to be served and started eating. You enjoyed moments like this. When everyone was enjoying each other's presence.

"So," Ronal started, "did anything fun happen today?" she asked all three of us.

"I was just mostly hanging out with Rotxo," Ao'nung stated, taking a bite of his fish "we went hunting with the others"

"We were helping around the village" Tsireya said motioning to you and herself. You nodded as you chewed.

"That's good," said Tonowari "helping our people is one of our highest priorities."

We all nodded in agreement. It then went quiet again as everyone finished up their meal. After lunch, there was a few hours before your guys curfew.

"What do you guys want to do?" you asked, looking at the two siblings as you finished cleaning the leftover food.

"Rotxo is waiting for me to go take the Ilu's out for a ride" Ao'nung said standing up.

Tsireya hummed and looked at her brother, "Can we come?"

You finished and looked at him as well.

He shrug his shoulder, "Sure"

Snickering with Tsireya you turned to Ao'nung

"What are you giggling about?" he questioned, eyeing you.

"Race you there!" you yell as both you and Tsireya run out of the hut.

"Hey! you had a head start" yelled Ao'nung as he tried to catch up to you two.

The water seemed closer every second as you tried your best to make it first. The three of you jumped into the water almost at the same time.

Floating to the surface, you all laugh as you ask "Who was first?"

"It was so me!" Ao'nung yelled playfully.

"No! I think it was me!" Tsireya stated.

"I don't know what you two are talking about, it was me!" You rolled your eyes playfully.

Ao'nung splashes you and you did it back, soon Tsireya joined.

"Look," Tsireya said, pointing her finger behind Ao'nung "it's Rotxo, maybe he saw who won"

You all turn to face the young boy. He swims up to all three of you on an Ilu and smiles.

"Did you see us running down the hill over there?" you question him, pointing your finger towards the rocky hill while trying to keep yourself up above the water.

"Only the last bit" he said, smiling down at you.

"That's exactly what we need" you reply treading the water with both hands again.

"Who hit the water first?" asked Ao'nung.

Rotxo looked between you, Ao'nung and Tsireya,

"I don't know."

You all groaned in a playful manner at the same time.

"Whaaat"

"But you said you did"

"Are you kidding me"

Rotxo just put his hands up in defense.

Ao'nung looked at his sister and then at you. You smirked and looked up at Rotxo.

"..what?" he questioned after a few seconds of suspicious silence, looking down at all of you.

You all suddenly started splashing him with water which caused a lot of giggles. Rotxo lost his balance and fell off his Ilu, turning the small giggles into big hollering and barks of laughter.

You guys spend about 2 hours riding your Ilu's, talking about anything and everything, and just spending the time together.

"We should head back now" Tsireya called out.

"I agree" you said

"Yeah, it's already pretty dark," Rotxo said looking at the now dark sky.

All of you swim back to shore and help each other out. Saying your goodbyes, you and Tsireya walked ahead of the 2 boys, wanting to get to the hut already and go to bed.

"That was a fun night" you looked at Tsireya.

"Yeah, it was," she smiled.

"What do you think we will do tomorrow?" she asked, looking at the sky, as if trying to see the future.

"..Don't know. Hope it's going to be as fun as today" you replied, walking into the hut.

Saying good night to everyone in the hut, you make your way to your designated area for sleep.

As you lay there trying to sleep, you think back to the conversation you had with Tsireya.

Nothing fun has happened for a while now. Everyday has basically been the same. But you didn't mind, you liked the life you had now.. or did you?
