"Are you good at it?" he asks.

"You heard Tsireya, 'best one there'" you cock your head to the side.

He chuckles.

"Can't wait to see it." he smiles.

"Hope you will like it." you wink at him as you walk into your family's marui pod.

"I'm sure I will." he mumbles.

---

"Everybody, the Tulkuns are here!" Tsireya calls out from her Ilu, "Our brothers and sisters have returned!"

You look up and drop the top you were weaving together. You gasp to yourself as a smile grows on your face.

Looking to your left, you make eye contact with Ao'nung. He also had a big smile on his face.

You have noticed that his smile resembles Ronal's. Alot. He has his mama's smile. And he is a mama's boy. But you will never tell him that.

You quickly stand up and run out of your family's marui.

As you run towards the crowd forming in the ocean, you notice the Sully family looking at all the Metkayina people jumping in the water. They looked a bit confused.

"Come on!" You yell at them as you wave your hands towards the water.

Neteyam shrugs and starts running towards the water as well. Lo'ak and Kiri looked at each other and made a face before following their older brother. You could hear at a distance, Tuk calling for her sister to wait up.

You feel like you haven't had so much excitement in such a long time, you really needed this.

As soon as your body collides with the water, your heart is full with happiness. You could hear all the different noises from the Tulkuns, making you so delighted. You waited such a long time for this to happen again.

You couldn't wait to see your spirit sister. You have so much to tell her.

You call for your Ilu, and Aolé quickly glides through the water towards you. You smile towards the creature and get on his back as he swims to the surface.

"Lo'ak! Kiri! Neteyam! Tuk! Come quick!" you shouted, as Aolé keeps splashing through the water.

"We are coming!" You hear Tuk yell back, turning your head, you see the girls following you.

You turn to your right and see Neteyam and Lo'ak by your side. As you make sure everyone was there, you look back at the front, keeping an eye out for any familiar creature.

You can't stop smiling as you look at everyone around you; the light shining, making the water sparkle. The shine only makes the atmosphere lighter. The reef people laughing, having fun, telling stories, swimming, and talking with the Tulkuns. The Tulkuns are also happy to see their spirit sisters and brothers, making noises, splashing around, and swimming with the children. It feels like a dream.

You wish every day could be like this one, but this event being once a year is also what makes it so special.

You dive back into the water and look for your soul sister, swimming around all the other Tulkuns and Metkayina. Rotxo quickly pulled Kiri and Tuk aside to meet his spirit brother, while Tsireya waved Lo'ak over. You looked to your left and smiled over to Neteyam, who smiled back at you.

Asudden, you hear a familiar calling. Even though being apart for so long, you could never forget the noise your spirit sister creates.

You swiftly turn your head back to the front, and Aolé quickly swims to the surface.
