Weathervane

Standing there you had your earbuds still in your ears. Barely allowing the outside world to connect with your ears wishing for it to fall silent and allow you to catch your breath for once. Once Wednesday put her book away she began to translate everything to sign language as to what was being said. Allowing you to focus on your own comfort. All students will report for their volunteer jobs at ten A.M sharp, followed by a community lunch at one. As you know, Outreach Day culminates in a very special event, the dedication of a new memorial statue in the town square, which will also include performance by Nevermore students. Everyone around grinned or smiled in glee, happy to participate in the school spirit of things. As representative of our school, I trust you will all put your best face forward. A slip of paper began to be passed around as more students yelled happily to participate on this day.

Miss Thornhill went up to you and your twin handing two separate papers. Wednesday furrows her eyebrows, "We won't need two, we're going together," she states.

The red headed teacher shakes her head, "Principal Weems orders, you two have to be separated rather than stick together like you normally do." Your sister translates every word said to you, not wishing for you to rip out your headphones just to listen to a small few words.

Frowning at hearing of the terrible news. You knew Weems was behind all of this. By tearing you away from Wednesday it annoyed you to no end. You wanted to stay by Wednesday's side no matter what, stay alongside with her rather than be stripped away.

Opening up the small folded piece of paper you read, Weathervane. Looking at Wednesday's it was Uriah's Heap. Two different areas. Far away from one another for hours on end until you were united with her once again.

Forced to work in a coffee shop. You cleaned the dirty cups barely speaking a word to anyone around you. Your earbuds were off this time as you had to. The manager orders.

"Hey Monday." Tyler greets you as he throws on his apron.

Xavier —who too got Weathervane— looks at you confused. You simply disregard the artists and wave at the brunette teenage boy. "Will Wednesday be showing up?" You stared at him, never opening your mouth.

Assuming it was a hint, he nodded his head and murmured something under his breath and walked off to the cash register. Such a short conversation that ended quickly. That was the first time someone only asked a question and didn't pester you, just simply walked off.

You went back to work on washing the cups. Someone grabs a towel and stands besides you grabbing one of the wet cups and begins drying them. "Did Wednesday tell you about your recruitment?" Xavier questions, staring at the side of your face.
