Follow Him

Laying in your bed Enid had come to ask you if she could switch rooms with Wednesday to you. You happily agreed. Now that you and Enid had gotten comfortable with one another in living situations. With her being on her phone typing away giggling at whatever conversation she was having, you were left reading from a book you were currently reading, close to finishing it.

Getting back to your room well into the night. Closing the door quietly, you saw Enid snoring in her sleep as she slept in a bed—one given to her by Miss Thornhill—you went to your closet and changed from your current clothes to a pair of white pajamas.

Your body finding your soft mattress. Your eyes staring up at the blank ceiling, your thoughts circling around your knowledge of the beast. Of Laurel. Forever stuck in thought about them. A curse on your brain. You managed to fall "asleep" to the outside world. But in actuality, your mind fell into a sleepwalking state once again. After meeting your biological father might just have the effect of allowing you to sleepwalk through memories. Or perhaps this was one of the psychic abilities that you obtained so easily and just kept using without meaning to.

"Waking" up in a bedroom that didn't belong to you. Instead you woke up in the forest. Your ears picked up rustling. Snapping your head over to the sound of breaking branches, you followed it. Whose memory was this?

Catching sight of m/h/c (mother's hair color) flashing right before you. She stops herself right in front of Laurel who held an executioner ax with a sickening smile. A smile that resembled to one of the teachers at Nevermore.

M/n backs away, slowly, regaining her breathing. "You."

"Me." Laurel takes a step closer. "You know, I've always imagined this day, where I would kill the people you love just like you did with mine."

"The charges were dropped."

"I know poisoning when I see it." Laurel spat.

"I didn't kill your father."

"You can stop telling lies. Considering this is your end." Laurel flips the ax in her hand. "That this is your last day alive." She takes a step closer to M/n. "Then I'm going after that heathen of a baby." Her eyes searched for you. "Where is she anyways?" She sounded cheery even in a monotone voice. "Tucked away for anyone to find?"

"You'll never find her." M/n breathed out. "You've already taken my husband, you can take me. But you'll never kill her."

"Oh but I will." Laurel continues to twist the ax, gaining a much closer distance between her and your mother.  "Even if it takes me years and years to find her. I will kill her. Either by poison or by stabbing. I don't care. She will end up dead. Then bye bye to your filth of a bloodline."

M/n stops herself from walking any further. Knowing you were in safe hands. Her moth's telling her. "My daughter will avenge me and her father." She curses. "She will come back when the fire rises and kill you how you killed me."

"Highly doubtful." Laurel then lifts up the ax.

M/n closes her eyes, her thoughts circling around you. The last thing she sees before the ax makes contact with her head was you, seeing you through a Death Head Hawk moth.

Staggering up in your bed, gasping for air. Breathing heavily. Your heart excelling beyond its normal rate as if you were running a marathon. Your phone buzzed as if an angry hive. Reaching over you grab your phone from its charger, seeing one contact pop up with dozens of text messages and missed calls.

Calling him back within two rings he answers. "What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

"I—shit." He sounded scared, terrified. "I... I saw her dead." And damn near tears, his breath uneven.

"Where are you?" You asked him instead.

"My shed." He drags a hand through his hair. "But I won't be there by the time you get there. I'll share my location. Just... please come."

"Yeah I'll be there. Give me ten minutes."

"Thank you."

"Of course."

The call ended and you threw on some clothes, making your way towards Xavier's destination. Showing up there you saw him in Dr Kinbotts car. You stopped before the car not knowing if you were disturbing something. But Xavier quickly exited the car and headed towards you, his arms hugging you in a pure death grip.

You hug him back, holding him close to you. "I'm here. I'm here." You repeated those words to him. Whispering it in his ear. "I'm here."

Once he manages to calm down, he pulls away from you. Kinbott staring at you with a smile. "Miss Addams, it seems like you've made a friend."

"A lot more than one." You inform her.

She clasps her hands in front of her. "It seems our therapy sessions have been working for you." You hum in acknowledgement. The blonde haired woman turns to Xavier. "I'm glad you have someone to turn to in your time of need if I'm not there." She tells him.

He looks at her and glances back at you, his hand finding yours holding it in his grasps, his nails never digging into yours.
