Present Mic was, in a word, concerned.
Since he was there to monitor the recommendation students, he had kept his eyes peeled for anything suspicious like cheating tactics, but no one was acting the least bit concerned with their peers. The one thing that was really driving that concern in the hero was seeing one of the examinees slumped over and most definitely asleep.
What am I supposed to do in this situation? Present Mic asked himself. I was only prepared to catch cheaters, not sleepers! When has anybody ever fallen asleep during an entrance exam?!
As he was mentally debating with himself about what to do, Rui's eyes opened. However, they were no longer hazel eyes, but pure dazzling blue. A smirk crossed his face as he straightened and got back to work on the test. When Present Mic saw that the boy was no longer sleeping, he didn't notice anything more amiss, so the fact that he wouldn't have to intervene made him breathe a sigh of relief.
The test went on, and one person noticed something was off with the person in the top row by the exit. It wasn't all that clear in the somewhat dark auditorium, but she could see that the boy's eyes had changed color multiple times. They would go from blue to teal, then back again. Each time in between, the boy would squeeze his eyes shut, and when they opened again it was the other color.
At first, she thought it was a trick of the light on the stage, but each time she would observe him, the eye color change was getting more and more obvious. Must have something to do with his quirk, the girl surmised, maybe a hypnotism quirk?
Finally, the timer on the screen at the front of the auditorium hit zero, and Present Mic's voice hollered throughout the area. "TIMES UUUUUUPP~ FLIP THOSE TESTS BACK OVER AND HAND THEM TO THE CLOSEST FACULTY MEMBER! THEN WE'LL ALL MEET UP RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING~"
"Here you go, beautiful," Rui handed his test to Midnight with a flirty smile. The R-rated hero hummed with her own flirty smile.
"Why thank you, handsome," she winked, putting the paper under her arm before handing him a number sticker while looking into his deep maroon, almost red eyes. "Good luck on the practical, sweetie."
"Many thanks," He nodded, taking the number and spinning on his heel to make his way out. Soon enough, all of the examinees were outside and had plastered the number on their chests for easy viewing access.
"ROCK ON~" Present Mic grinned. "The written part of the recommendations is over, the practical's next! And finally the interview~ You'll go six at a time for the practical, so get steppin when your number's called!" He announced. "The exam will be a three kilometer race, but it's an obstacle course--" He pointed at the students. "--so you can't just run straight through it. Use your quirks--" He fist pumped the air excitedly. "--to reach the finish!"
"Just three kilometers?" Rui snickered quietly, his eyes back to dazzling blue as he stretched his legs with quite the smirk present on his face. "I wouldn't even call that a warm up."
Since he wasn't in the first two groups, Rui observed the competitors go, finding a few that were decent, especially in the first group with the number 41 and 23 being almost exceptional. However, they were nowhere near his level, so when it was finally his group's turn, he stepped up to the starting line, his shoes morphing from tennis shoes to sandals with little wings on the sides that protruded all the way back past his heel.
The lights on top of the entrance to the obstacle course started at the red end, then the green light flared with a blare. Almost instantaneously, Rui was standing at the finish line, causing Present Mic's jaw to drop. "YOU HAVE A TELEPORTATION QUIRK?!" He yelled, looking between the student in front of him and the screen in his hand that read 0.01 milliseconds.
"Nope," Rui beamed, his hands on his hips. "I can just move almost as fast as the speed of light."
"Wait a second," the voice hero squinted at the boy. "Are those support items?!" he demanded as he pointed at the sandals on his feet. Rui looked confused.
"What are support items?" He asked, then squeezed his eyes shut for a moment. In that instant, the winged sandals disappeared, replaced by the shoes he had been wearing when he had arrived. When he reopened his eyes, they were a dark blue. "Oh, sorry, they're actually a part of the quirk, per say," The boy smiled. "I can go again without them if you want?"
"Depends," The voice hero observed Rui distrustfully. "What's your quirk, kid?"
"My quirk?" His eyebrows raised, and then he smirked lazily as he tilted his head with an almost provoking air about him. "Let's just say it's the incarnation of the greek gods."

"What do you think, Principal Nezu?" The faculty of UA was in their post-exam meeting, and the scores of each student were being looked at, compared and analyzed to see if they would be good future heroes and a good fit for UA High School. Currently, the student with the highest score to ever be seen was being discussed, having gotten the other students' fates decided a bit earlier. So far, the other faculty members were either very excited, a bit skeptical, or silent on the matter.
"It was truly a blessing that such a student was recommended to attend our institution," Nezu replied softly. "Even though the quirk he has on record is rather unavailing, if what he told Present Mic is true, Rui Yasuda may have the most raw power of any student I have ever come across," The mammel hummed thoughtfully. "I suppose that was why he was recommended by those people. So," He looked around. "Are we all in agreement?"
"Yes," The decision was unanimous that Rui Yasuda would be accepted as a UA hero course student along with Inasa Yoarashi, Momo Yaoyorozu, Shoto Todoroki, Setsuna Tokage and Juzo Honenuki, respectively in that order.
