"I hired you to put that girl behind bars! What's so hard about that?! I paid a huge amount of money in your firm! And yet this is what I get in return?!"

"You have to understand Mr. Shin that Lisa is a minor and she can't be put behind bars, that is clearly against the law!"

"Then do something else! Put her in a rehab or something. If all I know, her father is the one pulling the strings"

"Mr. Shin, I am just doing my job as your lawyer, if you have internal affairs with Mr. Manoban then its beyond my job description, I have done what I can regarding the case you've entrusted me, and it didn't come out as you expected it to be but that's the law Mr. Shin, and I can't do anything about that"

Alice started to get her things and got out of Shin's office, driving back to their law firm

"Lice, you seem stressed? You okay?" One of her officemates asked her

"Yeah kinda? I wanna slap the Shin guy in the face" she responded rolling her eyes

"Woah calm down bloody Mary, what happened?"

"You know the case I was handling right? You know, the girl who burned the factory? And beat up men? What a bunch of bull crap. And this Shin is pushing it to my face that I can't handle it when he didn't even been able to prevent it in the first place, like its just a 17 year old girl" Alice reasoned out

"But you know, I think that girl is dangerous. She looks quiet and stiff but little do they know that she's done something crazy" Alice added

"And you believe the Shin guy? Thought you hate him?"

"I believe evidence. I dug further into this MNSI and found out that they have already been operating in years and have been abusing some of their clients but never got caught, and this girl, Lalisa Manoban, she's really the daughter of Marco Manoban, the head of MNSI, as we expected" Alice explained

"I tried requesting for her presence countless times but she only appeared once, and she's not speaking or responding properly at all, actually all she ever has said is that 'I didn't do it' even though all the evidence points to her. She's second to Shin in the list of people that I secretly want to stab. But you know what's worst? As I investigate, I found out that one of her friends died because of her. They were both kidnapped and she was the only one who got out alive"

As Alice stated these things, she thought of her sister who has the same age as Lalisa. She wouldn't accept if it were her sister who got kidnapped and died, she was afraid of the thought

But this case really left Alice in frustration. She really did her best but every single time that she finds a strong piece of evidence against Lisa, everything fails along the way. She thought to herself that, thats just how powerful MNSI is. She hated the thought that its a 'national security industry' but they're the ones hurting people

Alice got home seeing her sister that had gotten asleep at the couch again watching disney film. She smiled at the sight and caressed her sister's hair

"I'll protect you no matter what Rosie. I promise you that. I'll protect you from people like Lalisa"

Chaeyoung's POV

A few days after enrollment, of course, there's classes which is really something I'm not in the mood for right now but of course I won't give up my dream that easily

I was walking with my head kinda down, earphones on, when I bumped into someone

Of all the people I'll bump into,why to this guy? I composed myself as I know this will be kinda awkward
