Lisa's POV

We're at the hospital now. My dad was safe because he was given first aid right away. But he was safe from the gunshot. From his sickness, that I don't know

Dr. Kim has also been checked. He is now sitting beside me waiting too outside the operating room because they are currently removing the bullet from dad. I was really glad that the gunshot wasn't somewhere critical. We already informed mom and the others. They're probably on their way here

"Thank you, Lisa" Dr. Kim suddenly uttered
"No worries. It was my job, Sir" I responded
"And by the way, nice to meet you. Your father always talked about you" he smiled at me offering his hand for a handshake
"I hope it's something good" I responded and took his hand for handshake then we both laughed

"It was always good. His eyes even sparkles talking about his daughter" he said with a giggle

It made me emotional. So dad still think highly of me despite everything. It made me regret those years that I was distant from him and blamed him for everything. Now he's sick and, and.... urgh I don't wanna say it

"But speaking of daughter, I heard you're also the one who saved mine" my thoughts were interrupted when Dr. Kim spoke again. He smiled warmly at me and I smiled back with the same energy. He really loves Jennie. And I admire him for that

I was about to talk when someone suddenly called me

"LISA!" And there are two of them

I stood up to acknowledge them but I was stunned when I was welcomed with a hug. It was the two of them

"Thank you for being safe" they uttered

"Ehem. Jennie, your dad is right here. I'm safe too" Dr. Kim said waving his hands. We all laughed at him then Jennie finally let go of me then hugged her dad

Now its just Chae

"You too Rosie" Alice strictly said then Chae let go of me, pouting. Looking at her is making me smile. This kid. Well she and Jennie is like a kid even though I'm younger than them

"Lisa" now its my mom. I hugged her too
"Thank you for being true to your promise. You're all safe. Thank you. Let's hope your dad will also be safe"
"He will be mom. He's dad after all" I assured my mom

But we all turned our heads when the operating room suddenly opened revealing the doctor who operated on dad

"Family?" The doctor asked then me and my mom immediately walked towards the doctor but then the doctor's eyes landed on Dr. Kim

"Oh Dr. Kim you're here also. You're Marco Manoban's doctor right? I need you to join the discussion with the family" I suddenly became nervous with that. But whatever it is, from now on, I'll face it head on

"Ok, so the important people are here. First, I would like to inform you that the bullet has been successfully removed. He is now out of danger regarding that. But we cannot remove the fact that he is already in his last stage of cancer, which Dr. Kim here can elaborate more" the doctor said then looked at Dr. Kim

"Uhm yes, regarding that, I hate to tell you this but his condition was worse enough and operating on him, uhm, how do I say this" Dr. Kim seems hesitating on what words he must use

"Its okay Dr. Kim. Just tell us" I assured him. At this point, no matter how painful it will be, we have to accept it

He took a deep breath then uttered "Well, I'll be honest with you, we predicted that this year will be his last. And this operation only shortened that amount of time. I'm sorry" my mom suddenly got weak and was about to fall on the ground but good thing that I managed to catch her. I let her sit on a chair for a while. While me? I'm just staring blankly at nothing
