"Rosella, this is Samuel I'll leave him in your care"

I didnt know how my face looked as I stare bewildered at the hangry man from last night, what a funny coincidence that I would have ran into my boss, before even being formally introduced to him

After a brief wave of surprise hit me, Lily gently took my hands with a comforting smile

"I have complete faith that you will do amazing" she said to me encouragingly, I gave her a smile, unable to voice my doubts, we bid our goodbyes

Now it was just me and this clearly annoyed man

Was he always this anger? Maybe he is hungry again?

I worried that was overestimating me especially given this man temper that I had briefly saw during our run in, I didn't expect this to be a simple assistant job 

since our run in I havent given him much thought, he is embedded in my mind as the hangry man, I couldnt really see him that night.

this time I could see him clearly.

He was sinfully handsome, a waste on such a grumpy man

"I didnt realize your job description includes you making googly eyes at me" he snaps

"Technically speaking my job does entails me to know everything about you, and to do that I need to observe you, and in order to observe you I have to stare at you which may come off—as you put—making googly eyes at you" as I finish my sentence I gave him my best smile, my smile only grew when I saw him gapping at me baffled by my retort

if he thought he could make me flustered by his remarks he is mistaken

I plan to have a comeback for everything and anything he may say, he may be my boss but I wont let him have the last word

"Unsolicited replies are—"

Before he could even finish "are necessary as long as they pertain to company related matters, and are in defense to my working abilities"

I had to stifle back a laugh, as he turned redder than a tomato, anger practically seething off of him, clearly he  wasn't use to someone that wasn't him getting the last say and winning at that, he knew I was right, and couldn't come up with a retort to mine, which only angered him more, most people probably would have been scared or wouldnt have the guts to say what I said, but to me he didnt seem scary more like a cat in a new home, hissing at its new owner

Like a cat, he needs some time getting to know the person, before he will willingly let the person near him

Which I understand and respect, I just need to show him I am an ally, Im not here to declaw him, or harm him, but simply make his life easier which in turn will make mine easier

Im here to start over after all

"That would be turn if this was a social encounter but we are in a professional setting, I simply finished a sentence you were going to say to save your time, since it's—"

"Let me guess its in your job description?"

"Look at that I would say that we are off to a great start we are already finishing each other sentences after our first meeting, we're like a couple and you havent even taken me out to dinner"

"Thats not—" he practically shouted "Ms Badeaux that type of comment—arugh" his stuttered with his words, as he let out a exasperated sigh in defeat, rubbing his temples, his hand blocking his face so well that I almost missed the tint of red gracing his cheecks

Maybe I took it too far, I quite enjoyed pushing his buttons, his reactions were humorous, they were quite different from Tanner's unaffected laughs

Whenever I tried to tease Tanner he would give me a brief laugh, before returning to what he was doing

Mr Blakes reaction made me feel acknowledged in a way but I was getting a bit carried away "My apologies Mr. Blake I was simply trying to remove any awkward barriers between us, my approach may have been a bit too reckless"

"Ya think?" His hand running through his hair, he went over to his desk, I slowly followed behind him

As he took his seat I said "now that the pleasantries are out of the way, Im going to need everything your previous had, and more so, like your schedule along with upcoming meetings and previous reports, contacts and ect so that I may go over to get better understanding"

With furrowed brows he sneered "Listen I don't need a unqualified wanna be handling important business documents, so why don't you just paint your nails at your desk and just tell the Petrova's you've been helping me, its a win-win" his voice softened at the end, almost begging me to agree to his silly plan

I snorted, with a smile I reply "Thats not possible I'm assigned to help you, and I wont have a hard time handling the documents, as not only am I qualified but I'm overqualified if I do say so myself"

"Oh really with what qualifications" he mocked questioning me

"With my Masters in Management and Bachelor's in Accountancy" when he couldn't reply I knew I won "I never pass up an opportunity to flex my educational credentials" I gave my victory smile, putting my hand out for him to place the documents I had requested

With a sigh of defeat, he grumbled under his breath so low I couldnt make out what he was saying, but he still placed the documents in my hand, my smile never left my face as I said "I look forward to working together Mr Blake"

He waved me off, probably to tired to fight back

I went to my desk and started reading, I had a lot to go over in order to properly do my job, and although it would be tiring, tedious and exhausting part of me knew it would be fulfilling and worth it as well hopefully that this is the fresh start I needed

I wasnt lying when I said I am looking forward to working with him.
