ROSELLA

I don't know where had the time gone, we were so engulfed in our conversations that we hadn't realized it was night till Dmitri called Lily asking about their dinner plans

We bid our farewells, me and Jade walked together till she had to go back to the office to double check a assignment she was given, even though it was past working hours. She is working extra hard lately especially more so now that her father Maxwell has been considering retiring, she's gonna be very busy soon competing for her inheritance

Her biggest competitor isn't her twin sister, but her cousin Pierce Maxwell, who was basically raised by the Maxwell's after Pierce's father, died in a car accident

I was going to make my way home as well, maybe do some more reading, play with my cat tulip, or look for some apartments online but on the way I passed this cute little cafe across the street from central park, and suddenly got in the mood for hot chocolate and a little stroll in the park

I think a stroll in the park is just what I need to clear my thoughts

Usually I wouldn't be walking alone but it wasnt too late and there was quite a bit of people and the park was fairly lit

Even with the bustling city and noise there was something calm and peaceful about the park, and what made parks so beautiful was the street lights lighting the way but not bright enough to outshine the New York city lights, it somewhat reminded me of Paris only this time I'm walking bymyself

Midway through my stroll, I neared a man sitting on a bench, that was place in between where the rays of the two street lights didn't touch, his head tilted up wards possibly staring at the stars, or possibly just drunk

I wasn't about to continue and find out.

As I was about to turned my heel to head back, the man whose head was now turned towards me, suddenly stood up making his way towards me at an alarming pace

My flight mode was about to kick on, till he entered into the light "Mr. Blake?" I say out loud surprised by this encounter

usually CEO's especially new ones tend to hang around a bunch of people to expand their networks through clubs, gatherings, or any social event that may be happening, I wouldn't have expected to see him alone in a park of all places

Unless he really is drunk

"Ms. Badeaux, I didn't realize stalking was a requirement for a assistant" he sneered his hands crossing over the other, as his dark brown eyes glared down at me

My breath hitched, I noticed it before but his eyes were enticing, the chestnut color, didn't feel cold or angry, but soft and warm

"Your making me feel like a child being scolded" I say turning away from him, realizing I was staring "I have much better things to do than stalk you"

I was about to walk off when I was abruptly pulled back, the heel of my shoe caught off balanced, slid against the concrete, I shut my eyes anticipating for the pain and humiliation of falling bottom first on the concrete, but instead of cold concrete, I felt...

Warmth.

I open my eyes, to find assumed chestnut one's gleaming down at me "Ms. Badeaux was this your ploy all along" a playful smirk on his lips replacing his grim frown he first showed to me
