The talk with my mom last night was just what I needed to settle my nerves and overthinking, she was right, I shouldn't be trying to get involved with someone that doesn't want my help, I would be adding to his burden rather than relieving them, unless he asks me directly I won't push myself

I shouldn't be focusing on what problems he may have, but focusing at the job at hand

"Good day Mr Blake" I greet to him as I came to my desk getting my things settled in, there was a desk right by his door that leads to his private office but I noticed he always keeps it open

He briefly looked up from his desk, with a bewildered expression on his face, "oh yea Good morning"

there goes focusing on work, that expression on his face sends my nerves all over the place, I quickly contemplated whether I should ask if something was bothering him, but settled against it, knowing it would probably end it a back and forth ordeal again "can I get you a coffee?" I ask hoping if I do something right at the start his mood won't be sour till later in the day

No likes to deal with a angry boss so early in morning, and one thing I've learned is coffee, as cliche as it sounds, puts everyone in a good mood especially bosses

"Yea, 4 shots of espresso, no sugar" He says before turning back to his work, I almost laughed at his drink order, how stereotypical an American drinking an americano, but at the same time fitting

A bitter drink for a seemingly bitter man

I make his coffee just as he asked, but couldn't stop myself from sneaking in two teaspoons of sugar, a little sweetness never hurt anyone, and maybe that sweetness might have a magical affect on his day

Oh so I wished, but a girl can dream

"Here you go Mr. Blake" I say placing the coffee in front of him, he briefly looks up giving me a nod

"I emailed you upcoming tasks, and projects I expect you to organize, and schedule a meeting for the afternoon with the heads of the department I want a monthly progress report"

Giving the heads only a few hours to prepare I cant imagine that going well "Sir your day is booked, you have meeting with Golding, and Kelly, as well as the design proposal for Maxwell" thankfully he did have meetings and the proposal, but if he really wanted to I could squeeze in a meeting with the department heads but he didn't need to know that, and telling him a meeting in the afternoon with only a few hours to prepare would anger many of the heads, would only result in him getting angry as well

But he didn't need to know that

"Right" his pen tapping against his lower lip, my eyes couldn't help my linger there for a second longer before bringing them back up before he could notice "then find an opening in my schedule for it for this week, and inform the other heads, that will be all" he concludes going back to what he was doing

"With pleasure Sir" I say with a smile, still standing in front of his desk

Noticing I hadnt moved he looked back up with a glare "did you need something else?"

"You forgot something" I tel him simply, I wasnt going to leave with out it

He visibly pondered, his brows furrowed with a tilt of his head, he was quite expressive in his face even though he probably didn't realize it, but in all honesty it was taking him quite long to say thank you, I would almost scold him if it werent for the wonderful virtue called patience I have

"Oh" about time "thank you Ms. Badeaux" he lips turned upwards surprising me, I was expecting a retort or a snarky remark

But I wasn't gonna question it and ruin a good thing
