~Natalia~

It has been a month since Natalia first saw her mystery boy at IHop. Every week that she has been at the same IHop to meet up with Sam and Veronica he has been there. They have made eye contact on every occasion and each time they do something connects between them. Natalia thought she was going out of her mind. There was no way that he felt the same thing she felt whenever they looked into each other's eyes. It was probably a trick her mind was playing on her since she hadn't been in a relationship in so long. Natalia figured if she came alone one day for breakfast and somehow talked to him, then the mystery will wear off and she can finally move on with her life. This little obsession was starting to annoy her since she was making no progress with him.

That boy. That boy! She couldn't even get a glance at his name tag in the past month. When she stopped to think about it she realized that she hadn't even tried to find out his name. She would stop short and not allow a single thought to process whenever he smiled at her. That sinfully-adorable-dimpled smile.

What could be his name? Was it something really hot like 'Xavier'? Doubtful. He was clearly Latino. What Latino parent named their child Xavier?

She was still sitting in her car debating whether or not to go in and execute her plan. It seemed like a good idea at first, but now that she is in the parking lot waiting to go in, well she wasn't so sure any more. What if he wasn't even working today? "No. This isn't the time to start chickening out. I'm already here. I might as well go in there and get it over with," she told herself. She got out of her car and headed towards the restaurant. She never had this problem before. Never dreaded meeting a guy she was interested in. So why now? What was it about him that made him so special?

She walked in through the door and sat at the bar. Waiting for about 15 minutes Natalia mentally kicked herself. What the hell was she thinking? She didn't even know if he worked today and if he did, would they even talk? How stupid of her!

She was frowning down at her pancakes when she heard, "Is there a problem, Miss? If there is something wrong with your food, then I will be happy to take it back to the chef and bring you a new plate." Natalia looked up to kindly tell the stranger that there was nothing wrong when she was met with a sinfully adorable smile.

Her breath caught in her throat and she began to stare a little too long when a server came over and said, "Hold on there bro, that's my job." The server turned to Natalia and smiled at her a little too kindly. She internally rolled her eyes and told the server that there was nothing wrong.

The server walked away looking a little dissatisfied and her mystery boy was just about to walk away when Natalia called out for him, "wait, bus boy!" He stopped and looked at her with raised eye brows. Expectantly. Her train of thought lost, she didn't know what else to say. He smiled mercifully and said, "I'm about to go on my break. Maybe I can join you?" He waited for her response. Natalia, of course, had to recollect her thoughts and wondered for a split second one last time if she really wanted to do this. Something inside of her told her to go for it and she accepted his offer.

He came back to sit by her at the bar 3 minutes later. He started the conversation, "I remember you. From a few weeks ago, you came here with another man and a woman."

Remembering that she was well covered up the day at the bus stop, it took her a second to realize that a few weeks ago was when he officially saw her for the first time.

"Was he your boyfriend?"

Whoa. What? That was kind of forward. Natalia gave a nervous laugh, "No. he's dating the other girl," she replied.

"Ah. His loss then."

Who is this guy?? Was he trying to be smooth? It was oddly working. The conversation, though, was starting to become choppy and awkward, so Natalia collected herself and began to steer the conversation.

"So what's your name?"

"My official name is Geoffrey Royce Rojas."

Geoffrey? Well it's not as sexy as 'Xavier,' but at least it wasn't something horrible like 'Hortense.' Royce, on the other hand, sounded really hot. "So what do you prefer to be called? Geoffrey?" She asked.

"I like the way 'Royce' sounds. Especially if the voice behind it is coming from you," he winked, "I don't know. I feel like you take away all my swag if you call me Geoffrey," he laughed.

Swag? Ugh. Natalia almost grimaced, but the adorable dimpled smile of his appeared along with the cutest giggle she had ever heard from a guy and she couldn't help but smile back. He waited a few seconds for her to continue and when she didn't he asked, "Aren't you gonna tell me your name?"

Natalia blushed, "Uh, right. I'm Natalia Reyes."

"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl," Royce smiled. He had such a sincere look that Natalia couldn't help but believe him. She knew guys who flirted and they did it so obnoxiously that she cringed just to think about it. It was obvious what they wanted and she knew the way they played-by complimenting her solely on her looks. But Royce looked so sweet and sincere. As if he was complimenting her just because he wanted to.

They continued their conversation and Natalia found that he was super sweet and even more adorable up close. A co-worker of his actually had to remind Royce that he still had work to do. He excused himself and went back to work. Natalia loved the way he was so easy to talk to. They said their goodbye's and went about their day. Natalia wanted to see him again, but for once outside and away from that IHop. She couldn't help but wonder where her feelings might lead her to if she continued to see him.
