Hello! I will be at the Writers' Rights Forum of PEN Philippines and UMPIL. I was asked to talk about the advice I give to fellow authors (especially on Wattpad) about how to protect our work when dealing with publishers. Marami na tayong napag-usapan dito sa "advice column" ko at marami na ring nagbago for better or worse since I started posting, but what I always try to remind myself and anyone reading this is that publishers (or any corporate entity or institution) that want to work with us should respect our work and recognize our value. The ideal situation is that publishers do better, rather than us having to warn each other all the time who the shady ones are. Dapat yung default at bare minimum ay mabuti at maayos ang publisher.
