When a story (from Wattpad or elsewhere) is published, the publisher usually asks that the author not release a "competing work." Meaning, another version of the story that will affect the sales of the published book.

Food for thought: We all enjoy reading, and reading for free. But the stories and authors we willingly pay for are the ones that stay on the shelves for more to read and enjoy. (Willingly ha - dapat willingly ka nagbabayad. Walang pilitan.)
