Part 8

Mr. Jones- Jug, I'm back!

That's when Jughead walked down the stairs.

Betty- J-Jughead. (tears)

Jughead- Betty!

She ran over to him and hugged him.

Mr. Jones- Well it seems like you two already know each other.

Jughead- We met at school earlier this week...now I'd say we're best friends!

Betty- Y-Yeah.

Mr. Jones- Well Jug...Betty, Caleb and Ben are going to be living with us for a while.

Jughead- Um, okay...but why?

Mr. Jones- They can tell you when they're ready-

Jughead- Wait, Betty, didn't you say you had three brothers?

Betty- (nods) Our oldest brother died a little while ago.

Jughead- O-Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that...don't you have other family that you should stay with rather than us? I mean, there must be-

Fp- They don't have any other family...but I'm their god father so we're the closest thing to family right now.

Jughead- W-Wait, you're Alice Smith's daughter?

Betty- Yeah.

Jughead- Oh my god, no way.

He picked Betty up and spun her in a circle.

Mr. Jones- Okay you two, relax...I get you're friends but I don't need to be having any grandchildren right now.

Betty and Jughead both blushed before Mr. Jones began to speak again.

Mr. Jones- Alright let me take you kids to your rooms.

They walked upstairs and Mr. Jones took Betty to the room at the end of the hallway. It was huge.

Mr. Jones- This will be your room Betty.

Betty- N-No I don't need this much space.

Mr. Jones- Well, it's yours.

Betty- T-Thank you, Mr. Jones.

Mr. Jones- Please, call me Fp.

She nodded and they went to the next room which was Jughead's.

Fp- Caleb you and Jughead are going to share a room since it's the biggest room in this house.

Caleb- Cool, I got a roommate.

Jughead- Hell yeah!

Then they walked down to the basement.

Fp- Ben this will be your room.

Ben- Thank you, Fp.

Fp- No problem...Do you kids want me to pick up any clothes from your house or anything that you left.

Ben- I can go with you to get some of our stuff.

Fp- Alright.

They started walking out the door, but then she remembered.

Betty- BEN!

Ben- What, are you okay?

Betty- Can you get Panda for me?

Ben- Oh...I will, don't worry.

Betty- Thank you.

Then they left.

Jughead- Who's Panda?

Betty- My stuffed animal...my mom gave him to me the day she died. She told me that no matter what she would keep me safe, as long as I had him.

Jughead- I'm so sorry Betts that's horrible...how did she die, if you don't mind me asking?

Betty- U-Um...our dad killed her, I'm not sure how or why...but he did. (tears)

Jughead- Jeez, I'm so sorry, I promise you'll be safe here.

He wrapped his arms around her tightly, which she didn't mind at all, she actually loved it. For a few minutes the two just stood there and hugged, feeling extremely comfortable with one another.

While they continued to hug, Caleb pulled the two apart before bringing them over to the couch and sitting right between them.

Caleb- Alright, you two, that's enough.

The overprotective brother took a deep breath before turning to look at Jughead, shielding his sister behind him.

Caleb- Jughead, you seem like a cool, nice guy, but Betty has been through a lot lately. She doesn't need a boyfriend or a hookup or whatever is going on here...I will be keeping my eyes on you two, so watch it.

Betty- Caleb, stop! We're just friends!

Caleb- Friends don't look at each other the way the two of you did.

Jughead- I'm not trying to get in her pants if that's what you're suggesting, I just want to be her friend, truely. Yes, she is beautiful but I'm not looking for a relationship right now.

Caleb- Okay, good, I'm still going to have my eye on you...especially since we're sharing a room.

Jughead- (laughs) Good to know.

Betty blushed awkwardly but then she received a text from her group chat with Cheryl and Toni.

On text:

Toni- Alright Gals!!! Are you ready for our sleepover tomorrow?!

Betty- Actually, would it be okay if we postponed?

Toni- Yeah, ofc, are you okay?

Betty- Yeah, I'm fine, a lot just happened though.

Cheryl- Um, are you safe right now?

Betty- Yes, I'm 100% safe. I promise I'll explain everything, just give me a few days.

Toni- Okay, love you, Bee, see you soon.

Betty- Love you too. I'll talk to you later ❤️

Toni- Bye 😘

Cheryl- Bye ❤️❤️

Off text:

Betty- I t-think I'm gonna go up to my room to rest for a little bit.

Jughead- (nods) Are you okay?

Caleb- What's wrong?

Betty- Nothing is wrong I just want to lay down for a little while.

Caleb- Okay, come get me if you need anything.

Betty nodded and walked up to her room. She shut the door and walked over to the bed, but as she looked around the room she began to feel tears reaching her eyes. She had had an extremely long day, and finally, now that she had time to sit by herself and relax, everything was hitting her. She laid down on her back and let the tears fall.

She cried for a while before eventually falling asleep, but after a few hours she heard a knock on her door making her jump. Forgetting that she was no longer in the same house as her father she started breathing extremely heavily. Jughead walked in and saw the state she was in, causing him to instantly run over to her and sit down in front of her while taking her hands.
