"AM I even allowed to go inside your room?" Sage asked curiously while staring at Avenight who's busy fixing a device.
Pagkatapos siyang ihatid ni Thursday sa kwarto niya ay 'saka naman pumasok ang lalaki. He said he's going to give that device to her, and she's just waiting for him to finish.
"You have your own room, why would you bother making a mess inside mine?" he coldly asked, not even looking at her.
Nakanguso siyang bumaba sa kama niya at lumapit dito nang nakapaa. Tinapik niya ito sa balikat. "Sungit! Tingin ka sa akin."
Her eyes widen when he glared at her with his usual dark expression. "Bumalik ka do'n."
"No!" She crossed her arms against her chest before pouting. Tinuro niya ang pintuan na may halong gigil. "Labas ako."
"Isa."
"Labas tayo."
"Dalawa."
"Ayaw! Labas si Sage," protesta niya.
Mariin nitong pinikit ang mga mata na para bang nauubos na ang katiting na pasensya sa katawan.
"Ah!" tili niya nang tumayo ang lalaki sa kinauupuan bago siya lapitan. "Sorry na. Hindi na ako lalabas."
Avenight grabbed her wrist gently before putting the device inside her palm. "Use that when you need something, I'll send your personal maid to accompany you."
"Eh, ayaw. Gusto ko ikaw mag-asikaso sa akin," reklamo niya.
"What are you? My child? Just shut up and obey me, little kid." Puno ng pagbabanta pa siyang tinitigan nito.
She mimicked his words before frowning. "Labas ka na? Sama ako sa 'yo. 'Yaw ko rito, wala ako kausap."
"Stay her until I say so."
"Sige na, Avenight. Sama na ako sa 'yo, please? Hindi na talaga ako magkukulit, 'saka hindi na rin ako sisira ng gamit. Mag-lo-look na lang ako tapos magtatanong, syempre," she promised while raising her hand.
"You're grounded," he said without thinking twice.
Umusbong ang inis sa mukha ng babae nang marinig 'yon. "Ayoko. I'm not a bad girl!"
"I told you not to touch anything inside my house," he answered.
"I did not touch anything, I just sliced the statue's head! Magkaiba ang touch sa sinira kaya—" Humagikhik siya sa sinabi. "Ayaw ko na, pangit ako mag-lie, eh. Sigi, bad na lang ako!"
Avenight stared at her unbelievably while she stood there giggling.
"What happened to your cheek?"
Sage stood frozen when he suddenly asked that. "Huh? My cheeks?"
"It's red. What happened to that?" he asked once again with firmness in his voice.
Tinakpan niya 'yon gamit ang isang kamay bago pilit na ngumiti. "Si Thursday! Nilagyan niya ako red na powder dito sa pisngi ko kanina," pagsisinungaling niya.
