I know it's been a while since Fatal Pursuit ended (it took a lot of energy out of me honestly, I was doing classes and writing every day, and then the semester started immediately after. Now I'm in a much better place to where I feel like I can write.), so here's a recap of everything that happened. (Again, do NOT read this if you haven't finished the first book and don't want spoilers)

Infinity Maraj is a recent college graduate who, like a lot of us, is fed up with the dating scene. Raised in a strict, Trinidadian household, she hasn't exactly had the time or space to explore herself or the men around her. This leaves her inexperienced and unfortunately, heartbroken, on many occasions. Unsurprisingly, she has had a terrible past with men, so this summer trip to Ibiza with her best friend is more than enticing.

Upon arrival, Infinity feels like she's stepped into a new world, as she discovers that her beauty turns heads! She can now express herself freely, knowing that she no longer has to feel like an outsider on the outskirts of the club, entertaining grimy men for a hit of serotonin. But as Infinity's cockiness and blood-alcohol levels rise, she decides to debut her newfound flirting skills with different boys in a nightclub.

She stumbles (literally) upon a handsome stranger named Ignacio who makes her feel unequivocally flustered. He simply leaves his number on a napkin, with a tongue-in-cheek note and disappears. When Infinity later tries the number, the text doesn't go through. She's convinced that he's given her a fake number and is once again disillusioned and downtrodden.

Her best friend, on the other hand, is having great luck with men. In fact, while Infinity was being swept off of her feet by Ignacio's words, she had already hit it off with her own European hunk, the sweet goofball, Dante. When Ignacio reveals that the number was indeed correct, she lets him take her out on a breathtaking adventure that tops anything that any boy in her past had ever done. She falls completely into Ignacio. They have unforgettable adventures, clandestine romantic encounters and undeniable chemistry. But, one day... he disappears.

Dante and her best friend drift apart as she reveals her true colors and Infinity kicks her out. In this time, Dante and infinity become closer and something special sparks between them. As Dante makes Infinity realize just everything that has been lacking in her previous relationship and Infinity falls immediately. They have something special, something different. It's so unique from anything that Infinity's felt in the past so much that she is convinced that Dante is the one... until Ignacio returns.

He explains the situation that he was in and why he fell off the face of the earth. He was kidnapped and forced to perform illegal activities in an international organization. It all seems perfectly valid until Dante starts to unravel his story with more clarity. Especially the mysterious branding that Ignacio has on his back that somehow leads back to Infinity. She has her doubts about Ignacio after this. Things that he's said before start to not add up, but at the same time, Infinity refuses to accept all of it as truth and continues to dig deeper, much to Dante's dismay. She can't shake the feeling that something wasn't right.

Unfortunately and unbeknownst to her, her investigations came at the cost of her relationship with Dante in ways that she doesn't notice. She's confused, and rightfully so. She likes both men, but in different ways. Dante and Ignacio make her feel so different in a way that she never thought was possible.

But when Dante and Infinity decide to solidify their relationship, they find out that Ignacio might've been telling the truth, for Ignacio was found dead. Laid out and left for dead by the same people that he was allegedly trying to flee from. Soon after this discovery, a familiar face from her past appears to deliver bad news. This makes Infinity's head swirl with confusion. She starts to doubt her feelings for Dante, as she's still reeling from Ignacio.

One day, she overhears Dante having a suspicious phone conversation. She confronts him about it, positive that Dante had something to do with Ignacio's death. But she's made to look like a fool once again when she comes to find out that her accusations were misguided. The heartbreak and betrayal is too much for him to bear. Dante leaves their relationship and the country.

It's also too much for Infinity. She moves in with her ex and his sick mother in England and it looks like something starts to rekindle. She suddenly starts to have terrible panic attacks and other symptoms. Upon a visit to the doctor, she learns that she is carrying a child. By who? Her ex? Dante? ... Or by her dead lover?

She receives a mysterious package in the mail. But she hasn't told anyone where she is or ordered anything, but it says her name, clear as day. She opens it and discovers a secret inside that once again flips the story on its head
