"it's been a year daddy" guys it's only been 4 months cmon you scared me LMAO anyway i have no idea what i'm doing but here we go

I jumped and my eyes sprang open when I heard the sound of the doorknob moving, someone on the other side of the locked door trying to get in. Oh, awesome. Amazing. Just my luck. It's raining cats and dogs outside and now someone is here, trying to break in and I'm in Wilbur's apartment all alone and they're going to kill me and I'm going to die here and-

You could hear the sound of someone unlocking the door on the other side. Surely, a serial killer wouldn't have a key, right? That's when the door opened and I saw him.

Wilbur Soot.

He looked like he had just gotten out of the shower with all his clothes on, his wet curls hanging over his forehead and slightly getting in his eyes. He looked up from the doorknob, peeking inside. When he saw me, his face lit up. "Hi. I wasn't sure if you'd be awake," he chuckled, walking through the door.

After realizing that it was 100% Wilbur and I wasn't just dreaming, I frantically got up from the couch, nearly tripping over the blanket I was previously curled up in. I quickly rushed over to Wil, hugging him tightly. The two of us almost fell over in the process, but he kept the both of us upright.

Wil continued to chuckle, wrapping his arms around me. I didn't care how wet he was at the moment. I was just so happy to see him. "Someone's excited to see me," he said.

"Oh my god, are you kidding?" I laughed. "Of course I'm excited, Wil, I've literally missed you so much- and you have no idea how grateful I am to know that you're not a murderer-"

"A murderer?" he chortled. "Why would-"

I didn't give him the time to finish. Standing on my tiptoes, I reached up to kiss him in which he leaned down a bit to make it a bit easier for the both of us. As we kissed, water from his hair dripped onto my nose, rolling down my face. I giggled, pulling away. "You're soaked. You're literally dripping."

"I know. I ran here from the car, and held my suitcase above my head, too, but I guess that didn't really help," he said, wiping the water drops from my face.

"Go get a towel or something. I'll grab your suitcase."

He nodded in response, kissing my forehead before he walked further inside, disappearing down the hallway. I pulled his luggage inside, unsure where to put it without wetting the floor. Picking it up, I placed it on top of the kitchen table.

I wondered what time it was. I didn't know how long I had been asleep or when the storm was supposed to stop, or even how long it had been going on at this point. It didn't matter to me anymore, though.

After a few minutes, Wilbur walked back in wearing different, dry clothes and rubbing a towel over his damp hair. It reminded me of the one time when I woke up from a nightmare and he had just gotten out of the shower, way back when he first stayed at mine and Elena's apartment. Well, our old apartment.

"I can't believe you actually got a flight so soon," I chuckled. "I thought I'd have to wait a lot longer before I finally got to see you."

He smiled at me. "Well, I texted you when I got the ticket, but you must've been asleep already."

"I think you're right."

Wilbur wrapped his arms around me and the two of us just stood there and hugged each other. When I yawned, he apologized: "I'm sorry for waking you up, by the way. Didn't think I was being that loud with the door."

I just shook my head at him, trying to tell him it was okay without actually using any words.

"Are you still tired?" he asked. "I could sleep right now, especially after all of that."

I just nodded, not wanting to move away from him. He must've realized this because he picked me up gently, carrying me to his room and setting me down on the bed. "The blanket I was using is still in the living room," I grumbled.

Nodding at me, he told me that he'd go get it. While he did, I laid down, waiting for him to come back. Apparently, I was a lot more tired than I thought I was because I fell back asleep almost immediately, but not until after Wilbur had come back in, laying next to me and putting the blanket over both of us.

"Goodnight, Vee," he whispered, most likely thinking that I was already asleep. "I still can't believe we're both here. I love you."

"I love you too, Wil."
