I slept through my alarm that day, not waking up until mid-day. Looking over at the clock, I saw that it was around 2 o'clock. That wasn't too bad for staying up all night. I went to grab my phone, but as I proceeded to turn it on, I realized that it was dead. I sighed. It must've died while I was on the phone with Wilbur. I fell asleep with the light on, too.
After putting my phone on the charger, I stretched, not yet wanting to get up. I knew I had to soon, though. Sitting up, I grabbed the water bottle that sat on my bedside table and took a sip. It wasn't as cold as it was when I first grabbed it last night, but that was to be expected.
My stomach grumbled, informing me that it wanted to be fed. This was my signal to raid the kitchen for whatever food I might be able to get my hands on, so that's exactly what I did; I made my way to the kitchen and looked through the fridge.
Grabbing a Go-Gurt, I turned around and was met face to face with Elena, who had been standing right behind me. For how long, I don't know. "Jesus fucking Christ, El!" I shouted. "You can't just scare me like that!"
"Sorry, sorry," she chuckled. "How long've you been up?"
"Like, ten minutes," I answered, hopping up on the counter to sit. "How long have you been home?"
She looked at the time on the stove, shrugging. "Meh. A couple hours."
I nodded, opening my Go-Gurt with my teeth as Elena looked in the fridge. "Noah here?" I asked, looking over at her.
"Yeah, he's using the bathroom. We came here after we got breakfast this morning."
Again, I nodded. I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of Elena and Noah's relationship; I mean, come on, they got to see each other every day. The last time I saw Wilbur was months ago. But I shouldn't complain, either. Elena and Noah are happy. Me and Wilbur are happy. Everyone is happy. Everything is cool.
"Oh, uh, Vee?" Elena spoke up, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Mhm?" I hummed back, looking up at her.
"We need to talk."
