Nothing, but love

I wanted nothing in my life.

Nothing but love.

A warm sunshine

upon my decayed ribcage;

A dash of sparkling hope

rushing through my blue flesh.

I never craved roses and rainbows.

I waited all along for the flame

to light my path and

hold my hand,

in the pristine afterglow.

I loved your heart and stained mine in your name;

I counted the days for you to return

'til the red roses wore away.

But I waited anyway

'Cause I wanted nothing but love.

Yet somehow, I ended up on a bed

of green cobwebs and thorny goodbye kisses.

And suddenly, I knew, maybe — just maybe,

"Forever" doesn't define "us,"

And "love" never meant "you."

-my world fades away into neon tears
